Save the Shire! Can't Post

I figure most of you guys already know about this issue, but I'm new to this site so I'm not sure. It can't hurt to post about it again. : )

The Zaentz Company (which has owned Tolkien's film and merchandising rights since 1968) has a history of non-tolerance, and is infamous for doing things like trying to shut down mom-and-pop sandwich stands that use 'Hobbit' in their name. While I understand their need to protect their investment, the Zaentz Company has used their trademark in a way that is bullying, greedy, and completely against what Tolkien would have wanted. Now, they are trying to trademark the word 'Shire'. This should not be allowed to happen.

I recently made a petition, to let the Zaentz company know they're annoying the fanbase they're depending on.

And let your friends know about this, it needs more attention. Because seriously... the word Shire has been around for centuries.
