(Moderators do what you must, but this is a deadline thing) Over the the least visited part of the new boards we are taking votes for ALLLLL the categories of the Academy Awards which happen tomorrow night. I am here to inform you that A) It is a fun part of the site B) GO VOTE! I will stop taking votes at noon tomorrow, Mountain Time, and post the results. Actually I can't turn the vote mechanism off, but I will take a tally and send the official results to be posted on TORn's main page. So, if you want your vote to count, vote now!
Once upon a time I was MrCere. I still am but this name is for posting and being part of the community while that one is for official business. 8-)

but half the films haven't opened in NZ yet. *drums fingers*
Celebrimbor: "Pretty rings..." Dwarves: "Pretty rings..." Men: "Pretty rings..." Sauron: "Mine's better." "Ah, how ironic, the addictive qualities of Sauron’s master weapon led to its own destruction. Which just goes to show, kids - if you want two small and noble souls to succeed on a mission of dire importance... send an evil-minded b*****d with them too." - Gandalf's Diaries, final par, by Ufthak. Word is that many genuine Academy voters simply vote for friends or vote for somebody who deserves to win without watching many or all of the films. For example, here is a quote I read in a bathroom stall in Hollywood near the Kodak Theater back in the day: "That Ron Howard, he is such a good boy! I think I will vote for his "A Beautiful Mind" movie rather than that dreadful, scary Lord of the Rings film which is really just a trilogy that I might vote for at the end of the series, if it all." We are definitely not taking anything too seriously and, if you only vote for what you have seen or what you feel like voting for, good enough.

simply vote for friends or vote for somebody who deserves to win without watching many or all of the films." Well that explains a lot! Personally if I got 50-odd freebie movies to watch before a vote, I'd lock the door for a week and enjoy the marathon.
