Hey! That's close by [In reply to] Can't Post

Welcome GHG. :-)

How wonderful of you to organize a Tolkien get-together of such special magnificence, and how good of Barbed Wire Books to host it. I'm *very* curious about the silent auction!

We shall definitely try to attend. Smile

I'll have to think about that. [In reply to] Can't Post

It's close to home for me too, but I've kind of burned out on Tolkien over the past dozen years. I mostly hang around this place for the people now.

Welcome! [In reply to] Can't Post

There are lots of great people at Grey Havens but there will be lots of Tolkien, too. Whatever draws you there, you are most welcome!

Sorry I didn't get to meet you. [In reply to] Can't Post

Uncle Baggins whisked me off to the mountains and we went on a hike, which is what we usually do on Sunday afternoons. But I thought of you, and re-read the destruction of the Ring scene in LotR, and the Fields of Cormallen, as we were sitting in Nicky's in Estes Park waiting for our dinner :-)

Ditto [In reply to] Can't Post

We were wrangled into pet and house sitting for brother, s.i.l. and kids while they went off Spring break camping. I'd like to say I read some Tolkien while wrangling dogs and baby hamsters but, alas, throwing tennis balls and cutting up fruits and veggies had to suffice. I did meet with some friends who have a small, but dedicated, Tolkien reading group last week to finish our foray into Tolkien's letter. I guess that counts.

Anyway, keep us posted on the next meetings. I'd still love to meet the group. I hope it went smashingly on Sunday! Smile
