but being brown (and a bird lover) you'd expect Radagast to be very close to trees. This apparently isn't the case, or Treebeard would have said so. Instead he rules out all wizards, except Gandalf, as having no interest in trees.
Of course, what Treebeard is actually trying to say in this quote is that Saruman has no love for trees. But it implies things about other wizards (probably unintentionally). I do wonder whether anything about Radagast came into Tolkien's mind when he wrote this line. Or whether Treebeard knows anything about other wizards.

Yes, it does indirectly suggest that Radagast is not included in caring for trees. But then it also depends on whether Treebeard is aware of Radagast. It may be so that Treebeard only knows of Gandalf and Saruman, and can only make an assumption on these two wizards. Treebeard probably knew of Radagast, but seeing how Treebeard had not wondered far from Fangorn in ages, and Radagast was more interested in fauna than flora, them meeting is probably unlikely to have happened.

Maybe I am wrong but it seems that the character on the right has a beard! seems like the character has a stout face as well! it's not clear from what I can see but not impossible. Though I would say these drawing are maybe far from what the characters would be in the film. So, maybe they did not care much to show them on camera.

Not very telling, but this is all we have.
Quint's Set Report:
Sylvester McCoy plays Radagast the Brown, a somewhat kooky wizard who is more at home with animals, insects and flora than he is with people.
Based on what I’ve seen over the last few weeks I think it’s going to be a toss up between Bombur and Radagast on who will steal the movie. Bombur is just so loveable and funny and Radagast is ridiculously endearing, an absent-minded St. Francis of Assisi.
Empire Magazine Article:
Later that day, Sylvester McCoy's Radagast The Brown is brought forth in a wig that looks less like it has traversed a hedge backwards than the entire hedge has taken up residence over his brow, and the director fusses happily over the drape of his brown robes and the pitch of his staff.

But I see a lady's face with blonde hair (possibly with some sort of hat (looks like a bandana to me)), and shadow under her head (i.e. around neck and chin) from the lighting. Looks like she is also wearing a (greeny brown) top that shows the top of her chest (low cut top).
Thats what I see anyway. Not how I envisioned Radagast hehe!

So, isn't there some part of LOTR or a tale told by Treebeard about birds eating the fruit off a tree and desecrating it? There are no birds or other animals in Fangorn... maybe Radagast, being pro animal isn't extremely pro-tree (like the ents?)

DanielLB> Funny how people can see different things lol! It doesn't look like a girl to me. Just look at the shape of the upper body and the shoulder, they are too large. Unless I am mistaken which is possible. And the 'shadow' in the face is more than that in my opinion it take the shape of a beard. We see a scarf in the head without a doubt, I think. What I am not sure though is behind the neck. It looks like hair and not dark hair which is strange. I cannot be sure. Anyway, the picture is too blurred and unclear to be certain. Maybe an early design of Beorn who knows? that's what I thought the first time but I am not so sure about that now.

As for the shoulders, I interpretted them as being big as the person is outstrethcing their arms, making them look large(r) (rather than resting by his/her side).

No news since few days.
I watched again the 5 vlog of the shooting, and something strike me on the first video at 2 minutes.
On the wall we can see several concept arts and precisely the one of Radagast the Brown.
I looked at the drawing very carefully by zooming and it is in fact Radagast because his name is mentioned on the top left of the drawing and if you count the letters there is 8 (see picture). I wrote the Radagast name in black for comparison.
Just need to know now if it's the final concept of the character, but we can see that the Character look goofy like Eric Vespe announced it in his 4th report:
"Sylvester McCoy play Radagast the Brown, a wizard a little crazy who feel more comfortable with animals, insects and plants than people like him. Based on what I saw in the last few weeks it's going to be Head or Tail between Radagast or Bombur of who will be the mascot of the movie.
Bombur is so adorable and funny, and Radagast is ridiculously charming, some king of absent-minded Saint Francis of Assisi."

Aperçu conceptuel de Radagast le Brun :
Depuis quelques jours c'est le calme plat en terme de News.
Je me suis regardé les 5 vidéos de tournage, et une chose ma fait tilt dans la 1ere vidéo de tournage à 2:00.
Sur le mur on peut apercevoir plusieurs Concept-arts et plus précisément celui de Radagast le Brun eh oui !
J'ai regardé attentivement le dessin en zoomant et c'est bien Radagast car le nom de celui-ci et marqué en haut à gauche du dessin et si vous comptez le nombre de lettre il y en a bien 8 ( Voir photo ) j'ai marqué le nom de Radagast en noir pour la comparaison.
Reste à savoir si c'est le design final du personnage, mais en tous les cas ont peut voir que le personnage sera assez loufoque comme l'avez annoncé Eric Vespe dans son 4ème reportage :
" Sylvester McCoy joue Radagast le Brun, un magicien un peu dingue qui se sent plus à l’aise parmi les animaux, les insectes et les plantes que parmi les siens. D’après ce que j’ai vu ces dernières semaines, ça va se jouer à pile ou face pour savoir qui de Bombur ou Radagast sera la mascotte du film. "
" Bombur est tellement adorable et drôle, tandis que Radagast est ridiculement charmant, une espèce de St-François d’Assises étourdi. "
Comme quoi il y a toujours à découvrir dans les vidéos de tournage.
