A small role, but not a small actor! He ought to bring a nice presence to the role.

Great choice of actor! [In reply to] Can't Post

Will be good to see how it turns out, but he seems to be a great choice.

That's great news! [In reply to] Can't Post

Not only is he a really good actor but he's a top bloke as well.

True story: Billy was in New Plymouth for a couple of months a few years ago to film The Last Samurai. When trying to find the residential house where a pre-filming meeting was being held, Billy knocked on the wrong door. Turns out there was a birthday party inside so he ended up staying there, hanging out with the (very surprised) birthday man. Cool

Celebrimbor: "Pretty rings..."
Dwarves: "Pretty rings..."
Men: "Pretty rings..."
Sauron: "Mine's better."

"Ah, how ironic, the addictive qualities of Sauron’s master weapon led to its own destruction. Which just goes to show, kids - if you want two small and noble souls to succeed on a mission of dire importance... send an evil-minded b*****d with them too." - Gandalf's Diaries, final par, by Ufthak.

now we all wonder how he'll look and act like. I'm guessing badass but jovial and merciful too, the ideal dwarf king maybe. (sheer speculation).

nice! [In reply to] Can't Post

Glad this finally got announced. Hopefully we'll get a picture of him in costume soon to compare with the others.

For instance, on the planet Earth, man had always assumed that he was more intelligent than dolphins because he had achieved so much -- the wheel, New York, wars, and so on -- while all the dolphins had ever done was muck about in the water having a good time. But conversely, the dolphins had always believed that they were far more intelligent than man, for precisely the same reasons. -- Douglas Adams

I have a new respect for the actor/Comedian now.xo [In reply to] Can't Post

Funny that.I never really noticed mr Connely until now.Not saying he's a bad actor/comedian he just sort of never came to my head for Dain i suppose. It's GREAT to se him in the role however.I think that this addition confirms that Peter FJackson is not taking any shortcuts this time.We will have a full fledged Dwarven army that are Filthy and Ferocious Fighters!>

P.S Anyone care to Show us a photoshopped picture of Sir Connely as DAIN> PLEASE with Lembas Bread on top.CoolBlush

I wonder what this means for Tom, Bert, William, Gwaihir, and Roac.

That just means that these (and Galion) are relatively minor characters who are not counted towards the principle cast. It does not automatically mean that these characters will not be in (or speak in) the film(s).
