The unofficial TORN "Nickname for Bifur's forehead bling" Poll
|
Can't Post
|
|
First off, I'd like to thank everyone who responded. Second, an oversight on my part in the original post needs addressed: I mentioned my two favorite names, craniaxe and axe-ident, but failed to mention EyeRock as the originator of axe-ident. My apologies. Now on to the poll. I have listed every one of the 50+ nicknames (even if they were in jest). Should a clear winner emerge and it becomes part of the TORN vernacular, then it may then be inducted into the TORN dictionary (subject to the decision of the admins). That really means it's up to us to get it there. A note to all the lurkers - you do not need to be a registered user or logged in to vote. So please jump in if you'd like. Thanks again to all who participated! Delrond

As always, TORnsibs are clever and imaginative! But "craniaxe" is the term for the long haul.

to whoever came up with Dain Bramage, but I voted for craniaxe. There are a lot of good suggestions in that list!

I think "axe-ident" is the easiest to slip into a conversation...

.... as in "He had an unfortunate axe-ident while auditioning for the Axe-Factor". *cough*

No worries, though. The hilarious results are the same. I voted for "dwarven chick magnet". But I also like "Bifurcation"!

Dain Bramage has been in U.S. comedy for years...

I forget which comic first used it but the first I remember was one who used it in a piece, "...and they tore my head off. Dey took me to da doctah an' he said I had dain bramage, but none of my friends know what dat s*** is!"

"Drain bamage"? At least that's the way I've usually heard it. The "Dain" part is the special wink to TH.

wouldn't be the first time as I'm among the very worst I know at hearing correct lyrics to songs. I'm usually much better with spoken but who knows? Been wrong before and will be again!

I had forgotten about that thread! But I was also thinking the thing should have a name. I claim child-induced memory loss, but mine are both sound sleepers (ages 10 and 5). They've even slept through a direct lightening strike to the house! So I'll just chalk it up to all the daytime craziness at the Eruvande household!

I voted craniaxe because it's vivid - but not tooo vivid - pithy, and memorable, but
