Somebody has faith in Smaug... [In reply to] Can't Post

While I don't think we'll see him, I wouldn't be surprised if he was mentioned or at least alluded to.

Um [In reply to] Can't Post

Establish Bilbo, the quest, Smaug, Thorin and the dwarves with glimpses of the trials they will face?

I can't call anything in particular, but if we get a glimpse of Beorn, I will be thrilled.

I'm thinking very little. [In reply to] Can't Post

A 'teaser' trailer usually implies that we'll just get a 'tease' of maybe just a shot or 2. I'm thinking maybe we'll hear a voiceover from Gandalf or Gollum, maybe a glimpse of Bilbo picking up the One Ring?

It won't be long now before we all know for sure!

What about the Tweets? [In reply to] Can't Post

It's has been described as fabulous, like meeting an old friend, "character driven instead of epic" and having something the viewer much loved in the book. Who would describe a shot or two in such way? A running time estimation of 3 minutes was mentioned by some. While she could have overestimated it, it's hard to mistake 15 - 30 seconds for 3 minutes.

Not much [In reply to] Can't Post

They haven't filmed much yet, so I think we're going to get a quick montage of characters running, eating, walking, singing, who knows what. Most of the world (excepting our excellent Tornsibs) haven't seen the dwarves at all yet, so just introducing the idea of the dwarven characters (and of course Bilbo) might be enough for a teaser.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a bit of old Bilbo/young Bilbo, just to help the general audience tie in with what they remember from LOTR.

I also heard that the trailer they saw was about 3 minutes long. [In reply to] Can't Post

Which seems much longer than a normal 'teaser'! But it would be amazing if we all do see more more than a few seconds. Smile

Mostly Bag End stuff, I assume. [In reply to] Can't Post

Perhaps Riddles in the Dark or troll-shaw stuff. I assume a lot of the 2nd film hasn't even been filmed yet, so most of that probably won't be there. The reason there probably isn't much "epic" stuff in the trailer is because the CG and/or practical effects from WETA and Richard Taylor haven't been completed yet.
