Who's Your Favorite Actor or Actress? Can't Post

Personally, my favorite actor is a tie between Dominic Purcell and Edward Norton. My favorite actress would have to be Naomi Watts. Who's yours?Cool

Dagonet,
Three Rings for the Elven-kings under the sky,
Seven for the Dwarf-lords in their halls of stone,
Nine for Mortal Men doomed to die,
One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne
In the Land of Mordor where the Shdows lie.
One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them,
One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them
In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.

Boy, that's tough [In reply to] Can't Post

If you're restricting it to those who appeared in Lord of the Rings, it's Sean Bean with Cate Blanchett close behind.

If it's actors or actresses in general, Helen Mirren gets my vote.

I don't think I could choose just one. [In reply to] Can't Post

There are so many actors and actresses that I think are amazing:

Marlon Brando
Bette Davis
James Dean
Robert Redford
Robert deNiro
Jodie Foster
Meryl Streep
Viggo Mortensen
Elijah Wood
Maggie Gyllenhaal
Christian Bale
Ewan McGregor
Cate Blanchett

....I could go on for pages! There are tons of others that I think have given singularly great performances; I would also have to do a seperate list for favorite actors from tv shows. Smile

The audacious proposal stirred his heart. And the stirring became a song, and it mingled with the songs of Gil-galad and Celebrian, and with those of Feanor and Fingon. The song-weaving created a larger song, and then another, until suddenly it was as if a long forgotten memory woke and for one breathtaking moment the Music of the Ainur revealed itself in all glory. He opened his lips to sing and share this song. Then he realized that the others would not understand. Not even Mithrandir given his current state of mind. So he smiled and simply said "A diversion.”

I don't think.... [In reply to] Can't Post

I could actually name just one....

For the longest time it was Harrison Ford....I don't know if he's my favourite anymore....as for a favourite female....hmmm Angelina Jolie is pretty high, but I don't know if that's entirely for her acting abilities......

What's the matter, James? No glib remark? No pithy comeback?"

Ironically, there's a Tolkien link [In reply to] Can't Post

Carl Banks, who developed Donald and his family said this
  • "I've always looked upon the Ducks as caricature human beings. Perhaps I've been years writing in that middle world that J. R. R. Tolkien describes, and never knew it." (After his retirement Barks started reading Tolkien, and discovered similarities between their stories. At this point he was comparing his Ducks to Tolkien's hobbits of Middle-earth.)

my 2 faves [In reply to] Can't Post

I'd have to go with Viggo Mortensen for fave male; just because he was so great in the LOTR's and they are my favorite movies. I also loved him in A History of Violence and especially Eastern Promises. Morgan Freeman comes very close though, as he's been in some great movies.

Female wise I'd have to go with Cate Blanchett. She just has a certain elegance about her. Always liked Susan Sarandon as well.

I enjoy watching Ian Mckellen. He is a great actor. Christian Bale is also on my list of favorite male actors. For actresses, Meryl Streep is definitely one of the best.
