What Middle-Earth drink would you most like to sample? Can't Post

Just for the fun of it - if you could order anything in Middle Earth what would you like? Are you more of a wine person? Or would a nice ale go down proper?

Ent-draught for me. [In reply to] Can't Post

Something tells me the Ents have some knowledge we do not. Something must make Quickbeam so very hasty. And Fangorn so very wise (and long-lived!!). I'd take some of that of an evening.Cool

I want to grow taller. Any idea how frustrated it is to be stuck at 157 cm? Any 12-year-old's already taller than me Frown

Not too hard... [In reply to] Can't Post

I'm fine with being short, and not much of a fan of ale or wine, so miruvor it is.

But you forgot butterbeer! *runsaway*

My daughter and my boss are both that height. [In reply to] Can't Post

And my aunt is 150 cm of tough old lady. Nobody would ever mess with her. I talked with a man who was a former student of hers (she taught junior high math). He said he remembered her reaching way up to grab him by the ear and haul him off to the principal's office.

One of my students told me a story once of his mother, who was very short and had very tall sons. She used to get up on a stool to scold them. Eventually, just the threat "Don't make me get my stool!" was enough to get them to behave.

My sisters would agree with you! [In reply to] Can't Post

They are both 5' 1". Their children are all much taller than them already in their early teens. I'm the tallest in my family and I'm only 5'10". So that shows we've got some shorty's in the familyWink

The Wine for me [In reply to] Can't Post

Never been much of a brew person myself, Miruvor strikes me as more of a cordial...nice for tasting, not good for real drinking. And I'm tall enough as it is Smile

Ent-draught would be cool, delicious, and refreshing.

And I doubt they had margaritas in Middle Earth.

Size it not about being tall [In reply to] Can't Post

at least when you're 190cm (that's 6'4 for you non-metrics). And it has its disadvantages, like buying shoes (I'm USsize 14… yeah tall as an Uruk with Hobbit feet.)
But I have always wondered how water from Fangorn would taste.

I wouldn't... [In reply to] Can't Post

... want to be *that* tall, but some 10 extra centimeters wouldn't hurt.
Two friends of mine are even taller than you, namely 1.93m (a she) and 1.97m (a he). I always have to be careful not to walk inbetween those two - it'd be too silly. The she told me a few times how annoying it is to be tall, and I believe her. Being small is annoying (being outlengthened by a 12-year-old's a nuisance, just like having to ask people to get you that one item from the top shelf, or not being able to see the film in theatre properly because a head's blocking the view), but tall people come across enough not-so-pleasant situations too.
