When the Frodo/Bilbo narration sequence will take place - before the actual quest of the ring. Good move.
The greatest adventure is what lies ahead.

...that does look like the costume he was wearing during the very beginning of the Fellowship, when he sat under the tree and Gandalf came to the Shire. Quite a nice touch.

I really enjoyed reading that - so good to have real news coming through - and I envy him. Just one question - what on earth is jellied toast? Jellied eels I've heard of, but jellied toast????

It's amazing to see this. I'm glad that the bridge between the films is set at the very beginning of The Fellowship of the Ring—it strengthens the ties between the films, which will make for an amazing experience once we have all five movies on DVD and can marathon them as we choose.

I was transported by the descriptions of the lush landscape, the panoramic views, the intense sunlight and colors, the massive party tree (now we know it's not CGI), the iconic images, and the pastoral menagerie. I loved the part about the renegade cow - too funny!! (It would be comical if they could incorporate a similar moment in the film's introductory scene). Although it was a minor spoiler, I like the proposed "60-yrs earlier" transition from old Bilbo to young Bilbo outside of Bag End.

Sounds like they're being slavishly attentive to making TH and LotR one long, five-part narrative with (hopefully) near-perfect continuity. I guess PJ is making the "Anti-Star Wars Prequels"! Very fun report...can't wait for more of these over the next couple of months.
My Top Ten Wish List for "The Hobbit": 10. Legolas will surf down Smaug's neck 9. A backstory explaining the animosity between baby Gothmog and baby Denethor 8. Bilbo will be revealed to a Robot 7. Naked PJ cameo as Ghan-Buri-Ghan 6. Gandalf and Tauriel love story 5. Use not only 3D, but smell-o-vision, with axes coming out of the seats and poking the audience when appropriate 4. Steven Tyler cameo as Celebrian (with accompanying song and dance sequence) 3. Attractive Goblins and Ugly Elves 2. Scene with all the characters in the films watching their lives being adapted to film in the production blogs and laughing at how inaccurate they are! 1. Not only keep the claim that Thorin & Co. ran amok in Mirkwood "molesting people", but depict said incident in vivid detail!!!!!

Getting our info from AICN..what a joy. I wish they would have someone from the One Ring who has a vocabulary that extends beyond f-bombs and can think of metaphors that don't have to include genitalia.

I was surprised by the sheer cleanliness of this article. I guess Quint knows that this is the most high-profile gig AICN has had in a long time, and is tailoring his writing for a wider audience.

that AICN is usually unbearable, but, here, they're certainly doing a professional and thus far respectable job.

I hope that this exciting time wont be over shadowed by a "competition" between torn and AICN..It's not like it's a competition, we are all friends and in it together :) cheers!

By AICN standards. I enjoyed reading it. But I generally avoid AICN precisely because of the language. It's juvenile and it detracts from the information they're trying to present.

and i can't remember Quint using a lot of swear words ever. He's my favorite writer of the bunch there (after Moriarty left). I also believe the wider audience can handle a few swear words.
