My Progressive LOTR Warhammer Collection
|
Can't Post
|
|
Just thought I'd share a geeky passion of mine - collecting LOTR miniatures. I'll continually update this thread with image links over the coming days (which will likely be over the next 12mths or so). I used to paint myself but have stopped due to arthritis so I'm working closely with an incredible Polish painter Wojtek aka Viruk from Independent Painters to have each army commission painted to precise specifications so nothing is left to chance. Here's the first completed army which has taken around 4 months to complete - Mordor - http://s40.photobucket.com/...tudio%20LOTR/Mordor/ All photos have been taken by me in my work studio. Enjoy! reags

That is flippin AWESOME. I play 40k and a little bit of the LOTR Warhammer game, but none of my guys look half as great as these. Once again, AWESOME.
The world is changed. I feel it in the water. I feel it in the earth. I smell it in the air. Much that once was is lost, for none now live who remember it. Getting fit for Dragon*Con 2012

Cheers for the kind words. I definitely feel privileged to work with an amazingly skilled painter who also happens to co-run the largest Polish LOTR gaming site (Mithril.pl) which is a huge plus as he has good head knowledge about Tolkien history which is very handy for colour schemes, markings, etc. You however, have one up on me as I'm still learning how to play the game :(

Nicely done! Quite the collection.
What's the matter, James? No glib remark? No pithy comeback?"

I'd like to link to those pictures from my blog. Possibly write something awesome about them or show some pictures. Just wanted to get your permission first. Of course, credit will be given where credit is due. In other words, I would never be like, "Hey dudes, check out these new guys I painted!" or anything like that.

but I've finally setup a basic photo table at home so I'll be able to hopefully update more frequently. :) http://s40.photobucket.com/albums/e225/reagsy/Studio%20LOTR/ Added into the Gondor folder are Guards of the Fountain Court, a Trebuchet and the Balrog in Moria.
