Nice! [In reply to] Can't Post

Thorin looks great, as do the rest of the gang.
Still, I spot some serious photo-shopping going on with this image, but he who cares.
I do think it's good to know that the dwarves do have a lot more color in 'real life' than they have on these pictures.

There is an odd smudge thing on Bofur, but other than that it's glorious!

Holy hairy Dwarven butt! [In reply to] Can't Post

Thorin's costume is every bit as awesome as I figured from the vlog.

Is this picture giving us any indication of how important some of the individual Dwarves are going to be? Balin and Dwalin are next to Thorin, but Kili is on the back, and I assume he's going to get some screen time.

Plus, I think we should have buried Tolkien in a larger coffin, he probably cant turn very well in his. -Rossmonster

Thorin's costume appears blue, not black [In reply to] Can't Post

Nice, as blue is the royal colour in Middle-Earth. And wasn't his hood blue in the book?

Thorin looks glorious! [In reply to] Can't Post

He definitely looks more like the vain leader he's supposed to be with his furs and expression. Definitely more kingly.

And although Thorin's not wearing anything sky blue, that royal blue looks good. But where's the silver tassel?!

In the video... [In reply to] Can't Post

you can get a nice close look during the shot of everyone with their doubles. His shirt is blue, the undershirt for his mail looks purple.

"Of all faces those of our familiares are the ones both most difficult to play fantastic tricks with, and most difficult really to see with fresh attention. They have become like the things which once attracted us by their glitter, or their colour, or their shape, and we laid hands on them, and then locked them in our hoard, acquired them, and acquiring ceased to look at them.
Creative fantasy, because it is mainly trying to do something else [make something new], may open your hoard and let all the locked things fly away like cage-birds. The gems all turn into flowers or flames, and you will be warned that all you had (or knew) was dangerous and potent, not really effectively chained, free and wild; no more yours than they were you."

Can we get a pony and a teaser trailer next? Tongue

It's tough getting a grasp on how much of the color and detailing will show up in the films with all the different lightings we've seen them in. I think seeing them in the theaters might almost be like seeing them for the first time.

Thorin looks great!

He looks like a male, dwarvish Bella... [In reply to] Can't Post

Oddly, in this particular image, he reminds me of what Bella from the Twilight movies would look like if she were male, and a Dwarf.

That said, I too like his regal, haughty bearing!

Fantastic! [In reply to] Can't Post

I had been a bit worried about Thorin's body, since Armitage and Turner are fairly similar in build, but he's a proper dwarf, nice and broad. I like the kingly garb in blue, as well as the fur.
