Sounds like you'll be as ready as you can be for the little bundle's arrival. Happy anticipation!

What an artist you are! Do you ever paint mailboxes for gifts, or to sell at craft fairs? I'm sorry to hear of the vandalism, we get that same sort of thing in our area at times and it's just upsetting that that element of society exists. But you made wonderful "lemonade" out of that "lemon" incident.

People keep talking about Goodreads and Shelfari, but the time or two I've visited either one, I get overwhelmed. Maybe just a small bite at a time. Derek Jacobi has a wonderful voice, doesn't he? Enjoy your quiet weekend.
* * * * * * * Do we walk in legends or on the green earth in the daylight? A man may do both. For not we but those who come after will make the legends of our time. The green earth, say you? That is a mighty matter of legend, though you tread it under the light of day!

I went with Goodreads because apparently you have to pay for a subscription on LibraryThing if you have more than 200 books. Which I certainly do! And I have had a girly crush on Derek Jacobi since I saw him as Richard II in the BBC Shakespeare adaptations when I was in Junior High School.

*drools* New England is the only place I'll eat lobster (when you've had the best.. and all that ), so I don't have it as often as I'd like. BG and I watch our local show (which is only a few blocks from our house) from our loft, so we don't have to fight any crowds and I can sit in a comfy chair and sip some wine. Heaven! *fills tall glass of ice with raspberry iced tea* Have fun at the festival!

As ready as you can be, yes, but not 'ready'. NOTHING prepares you for that first time you'll look in his eyes and be lost forever. I STILL can't get over that awesomeness w/my son and wish you the same for the rest of your life! Take good care of the missus (I KNOW you will!) and my very, VERY best to you and yours! GAndyalf

I'm afraid I don't know a thing about Goodreads. I did get a Nook Color not too long ago and am still working my way through the collection of classics and the collection of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's works that I downloaded. Between that, and their blasted sudoku app (to which I'm addicted), I fill up at least a few hours a night when I should be sleeping. *yawn* Good luck figuring it out, and have a great, long weekend!

Thank you for your kind comments, but no I don't paint for commercial gain. I can't stand wondering if what I do is good enough for someone to pay money. I did try carving leather visors for sale, but didn't sell any. I did make a few wallets and purses which sold, but to friends.

I love living the border -- gives you a healthy perspective on the fact that the world has lots of people in it, and not all of them think like you! We also have sizable Mohawk population here.. so we really have three cultures here, four, if you count the French influence. Much different than my Shire-ish childhood in the US Midwest. I've appreciated that the people here have helped me feel at home, and it has been a good place to raise kids -- they all seem to be turning out OK, anyway, so far! Cheers, Lily and thanks for the good wishes!
