I hope Saoirse manages to get her schedule in order and appear in The Hobbit. If she doesn't, we will almost certainly be stuck with the filmmakers' second choice for the part, which isn't going to help matters.

and there is a subplot given to her and she is the part of important parts of the movie then they definitely won't rewrite the script. On the other hand why would Ronan decided not join the cast if she would play a major role and she wanted to be in The Hobbit so much? I wonder if P. Jackson knows about all anti Itaril movement and the fact she is the most hated character(even yet not confirmed character) and decided to reduce her role or made it more canon friendly.

You know, they filmed, for TTT, Elrond and Arwen going to Lorien, and then Arwen went to Helm's Deep with a newly reforged Narsil-now-Anduril. That, obviously, did not happen. XD

No, I don't speak for all people. But what I know this character is not well accepted by many fans. The result of the poll on The Hobbit movie com. if character of Itaril should be cast prove my point: for "yes" voted 32%, "no" 68%. There is really not needed to blame me and be rude to me. Btw my post was clearly about the possibility of Peter Jackson to rethink and rewrite some parts in the script because the character of Itaril is not well accepted by many fans. Btw I'm not the only one here who admit the wish this character was axed. Why Legolas is such a as you say "hang up" of mine? I really don't think it's my duty to explain to anyone.

PJ's been known to take what fans say (like no Arwen in Helms Deep) and act on them in a good way. I'm sure that he will do it with the Hobbit too since he did with LOTR. This could be one of those things.

I'v just keep seeing this personal connection you feel you have with Legelos, and since you give absolutely No information like your age? or anything else in your Profile...I keep a picture in my mind of some schoolGirl with a Crush on Orlando Bloom?, not Legelos. ...revealing personal details in our profiles. This is not Facebook. And I think you are perhaps overreacting a bit to Symbelmine's concerns. I sense a lot of the people here are very concerned about the addition of a major new character ("major" to the extent that her part will take a year to film!) and romance to a story that has -- and needs -- neither. Regardless of who Itaril is supposed to be in love with, she represents a major distraction from the story we're all looking forward to seeing filmed. Take note of the poll results Symbelmine referred to. I think they're consistent with most of the commentary on Itaril that we've seen, ever since her character description was first posted here.

Quote you keep Throwing out this word "Canon". It seems by the word Canon she mean "Accurate to the book." English isn't her first language and this is the word she uses. In America you would call it being a "Purest".
and any attempt at having a romance or Whatever, with your Heart-Throb... you Freak OUT! (take it personal?) Did you know you can be a girl and be a fan of someone and still NOT be a Fangirl? Yes, it's possible. I think your misinterpreting her love for a character and her wishes to have him remain what he is in the book for Fangirldom.
I really enjoyed that guys Website link here that showed over 300 Liberties that the Movie took with the Books.... cause there will be many many deveations from the Hobbt that aren't "Canon"... We all recognize that there WERE changes to the books through the movies. And some of us don't like it. Some things we put up with. There may be moments where she watches something in LOTR and still doesn't like it because it isn't "Canon". I think you are assuming that because there are changes in LOTR that we agree with every one and won't worry about some of the changes they'll probably make to The Hobbit. And I'm not the only Forums contributor who have noticed this strange behavior....An explaination might be in Order. I've noticed you have this strange behavior of constantly replying to all of her posts about Legolas with vengeance...an explanation might be in order. The one thing I've liked about TORN is that everyone was nice to each other even if their opinions were different. Even if she's been making some "exaggerated claims" she's always done so with maturity. Give her a break. We all have our little pet project. If her's is Legolas staying like the book, let her keep it and that will be her area of expertise. Maybe yours is embracing all the changes made to the books. If we all respond with maturity we will be able to benefit one another and be able to have discussions that make us think about new things. That is what a forum is for, IMHO, to talk with people that like the same thing but, have different opinions than myself.
Some who have read the book, or at any rate have reviewed it, have found it boring, absurd, or contemptible; and I have no cause to complain, since I have similar opinions of their works, or of the kinds of writing they evidently prefer. I'm a user. I'll improvise. -Sam Flynn, TRON: Legacy

I'm looking forward to the new additions to the films as much as I am seeing events from the novel, (assuming they work). After all, we all know the story of TH backwards and forwards. But this new material will give us something which will feel fresh. As PJ has stated, TH is a very simple story; expanding it does not inherently mean that the films are in danger, despite the traditional wisdom amongst the fan base. BTW, this is the first time I've watched one of these things...this "Rebekah" person seems a little TOO happy, in that "Mary Hart" kind-of way, if you ask me!
I would rather be watching Peter Jackson's "The Hobbit" and Ridley Scott's "Prometheus"...it's going to be a long few years.

I've never read so many negative comments on any Hobbit character as I've read on Itaril. There is not even so much ranting about characters who aren't in the book and will be added to the movie as Frodo, Galadriel, Legolas, Old Bilbo...)but there is whole as someone said "anti Itaril movement" on the internet. Sorry but it's true. Sorry I made you upset but remember you made me very sad and upset too. Everyone is different and what is acceptable for one doesn't have to be acceptable for the other.

...honestly, I think too many people on FB, TORn, and other places online are far too psychotically obsessed with this "Itaril" character that we don't even know exists yet, or to what extent is part of the story (or even whether the story is well told or not). So much so that there is an Itaril topic every other day or so on threads in this forum. All we know for sure is Ronan was rumored to have a role (unknown), that would take up a year of time going to and from NZ. For all we know it could be background character meant to make the world in the films seem more full (since there are very few of those in The Hobbit). Take this bit of advice, getting upset over a character we know nothing about is a complete and utter waste of time and energy, and an unnecessary reason to raise one's blood pressure. By the way, the words "canon" and "purist" don't always equate.

"Itaril" has become the personification of all the fan base's fears, wrapped into one character. She's the "Jar Jar Binks" of TH, and the movie won't be out for a-year-and-a-half!
