This is Sparta! [In reply to] Can't Post

The lazy orcs have no chance against the courageous Spartans.

All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.

That's a lot of orcs... [In reply to] Can't Post

That many Uruk-Hai would win for sure. They are a lot more intimidating than orces filth. Smile

In this case, though probably spartans.

Pedich Edhellen? Lau? Hria cuilė.

End of line.

Go tell the Spartans, passers by ... [In reply to] Can't Post

... That here obedient to their law we lie

Although eventually defeated by the orcs and wiped out to a man, the Spartans managed to hold the pass at Thermopylae against the forces of Mordor long enough for the rest of the Greek city-state armies to safely retreat. The Corsair fleet was later routed at the battle of Salamis, freeing the Peleponnesian peninsula from the dominion of Sauron!

The pity of Bilbo will screw up the fate of many.

I can't guess who would eventually win, but.. [In reply to] Can't Post

the battlefield would be even uglier than usual.

If only Xerxes had listened to XenArtemisia, Warrior Princess! / [In reply to] Can't Post

From IMDB trivia:

"A scene was cut from the finished film that showed Eowyn (Miranda Otto) stripping away her regular clothes and then dressing herself in the armor of a Rohan warrior."

Same result as history.... [In reply to] Can't Post

Spartans would only have a chance if they were at
Thermopylae....plus, there were more than 300 Greeks at the battle...however, they could hold the pass quite a while if they took care to keep the secret way around guarded. But, in the end, fatigue and losses would overwhelm them. Orcs would not pull back as much as the Persians.

Caught on open ground, the Spartans would be slaughtered.
