Hey, everyone!

First things first-- thanks very much to everyone who contributed to and participated in TORn's Founders Day Party! :)

And second, I'm subbing today, so go ahead and pick your food/drink/music/etc. and tell us about your past week and/or upcoming weekend! :)

Drinks on me! [In reply to] Can't Post

As I posted earlier, I have a job now, so I can actually pay for things! *jumps up excitedly*

The rest of the week went by pretty smoothly, although I am pretty sure that it was mostly because I remained in a good mood for the rest of the week. I got a big project back in one of my religion classes that I got an A on, and my organ professor told me that he was very excited to hear how well I would perform in organ jury next week. I like when things start going smoothly. It feels like hard work is paying off a lot this week. Smile

This weekend will be filled with concerts from other music students (music theory majors have to have their compositions performed on Saturday, so I volunteered to play for two of them) and studying for finals next week. And practicing for (music) juries, which I'm not really looking forward to, but I'm feeling so optimistic right now that I don't mind. :)

*goes to check out all of the Founder's Day posts I missed*

Happy Friday, Eventides!!!!

Is the new Duchess of Cambridge a Hobbit? [In reply to] Can't Post

Her hometown is "Bucklebury"! Laugh

Hey, Evey! Got some hot coffee there? I'll take a tall glass of it, iced, with milk and sugar - something for a lovely sunny day! (So why am I indoors, at work...Unsure)

I feel so badly for everyone affected by the storms down in the South - and want to remind all that if you'd like to help, to contact your local Red Cross. Heart

Pimm's, I think! [In reply to] Can't Post

Something terribly British for this happy day. Wink Although I stayed at home and did various little odd chores while the TV was on - couldn't face the crowds in London! I did hear the flypast, although couldn't see it from my window.

Happy weekend (long long weekend, for us) everyone!

Better post quick, before TORn starts having fits again. [In reply to] Can't Post

I was having trouble getting in earlier. Crazy

It has been a busy (but good) week at work, and I'm looking forward to a quiet weekend.

I got "Aragorn's Quest" for the Wii, but I haven't tried it out yet. I may do that this weekend.

Otherwise, if it's not dumping rain or snow (both are in the forecast), I'm going to try to get out and do some walking this weekend. I'm falling short on my monthly average for my steps-per-day goal.

It's Scout's first birthday today! [In reply to] Can't Post

We've been out all day for an extra long hike, the birthday boy is now fast asleep, but there will be a nice tea of beef and gravy waiting for him when he wakes up!

I've been off work this week, which has been great. I have got to the point where I am so busy, I have to keep making lists to make sure I don't forget what needs doing. Happily, I haven't missed anything off the list yet! I had a couple of pretty big cake orders this week, including my first wedding cake, (eek!), so I'm glad they went without a hitch!

I have one more order to do for tomorrow, then I have a few days before going back to work on Tuesday. Hopefully I'll get a chance to catch up with ToRN, I even missed the Founders Day celebrations this year!

Happy weekend all!

Hello there, lovely barkeep! [In reply to] Can't Post

A glass of champagne, please, in honor of Founder's Day, and today's wedding, and just because I like champagne! Tongue

The Gaffer and I had a lovely evening out with friends last night, but we have nothing in particular planned for the weekend except our usual work-related tasks. (Mine is for income, his is volunteer.) We're putting together our next trek Down Under, for the Cruise to Middle-earth in November/December. Neither of us believe in doing things at the last minute no way, no how!

Happy weekend, Evey and all!

Friday again! [In reply to] Can't Post

I tried posting right after Eventides opening post and kept getting the Internet Explorer error message saying there was no such website. Annoying! Mad

It is a cold and nasty day today. It was supposed to be cool, but sunny and what we got was cold and rainy. My sister said she saw on a weather show that Ohio has had 300 percent more rain than usual. I don't think the people in Ohio would be surprised at that. The usual small talk is how tired everyone is of rain.

I think hot chocolate (rum in OhioHobbit's) is in order on this chilly day.

I have been potting up my starts. Moving them from the starting trays to their own little pots. OhioHobbit has been doing spring cleaning in the flower beds -- removing last fall's leaves and as many weeds as he can find. Everything is blooming. I have tons of blossoms on my nectarine tree and my peach tree. There is only one apple blossom, so I hope it gets fertilized! I wish it would get warm!

The hummingbirds have shown up. They are here about 3 weeks earlier than they used to come. We have the feeders up, so I hope they are getting enough to eat.

We were distressed to hear about all the tornado damage and deaths in the southern part of the country. Nothing can replace the lives lost and the memories lost in the destruction of their homes, but we hope they can get everything cleaned up and rebuilt in good order.

Have a good weekend, everyone, and a better week next week.

Well, there's a Wii game called "Aragorn's Quest." [In reply to] Can't Post

And according to Wikipedia, it's the same game as the Nintendo DS and Playstation versions. I haven't played any of them before, so I don't know anything about them. (I just got it because it had Aragorn in the title, LOL!)

I forget how the cover phrases it, but it sounds like the Wii version, at least, requires you to move around a bit, so maybe it'll be a good workout. :)

Hey Even [In reply to] Can't Post

Applied for yet another couple jobs. I seem to find them easily enough-- getting to the interview stage is another hurdle, and then getting hired is one that I consistently fail at. Rather annoying, to say the least. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.

This weekend I'll be working on several projects that will be due soon for my finals. The semester is almost over! Crazy.

And, finally, I'm submitting my application to study abroad today. Very excited.
