How many here have bought LOTR board games just for collecting purposes?

*tries not to look guilty* Blush

I've got LOTR Risk, Monopoly, Trivial Pursuit (2... one of them is the DVD version), checkers... as well as 2 Two Towers & 1 ROTK Perfalock 2D puzzles.

I have a few [In reply to] Can't Post

I found a pre-movie LOTR Trivial Pursuit a couple years ago, and I think I've got the movie version. I found a Middle Earth jigsaw puzzle that I haven't put together yet but probably will this summer.

I won a LOTR chess set at a movie party.

Each cloak was fastened about the neck with a brooch like a green leaf veined with silver.
`Are these magic cloaks?' asked Pippin, looking at them with wonder.
`I do not know what you mean by that,' answered the leader of the Elves.

Not for collecting purposes, but [In reply to] Can't Post

I've got two Tolkien board games, both made by the same company: a Lord of the Rings one illustrated by John Howe and a Hobbit one illustrated by Ted Nasmith. I also have an expansion for the LotR game (as if it weren't already long & complicated enough without). All are most definitely for playing purposes; I love games.

We have LOTR monopoly, LOTR DVD Trivial Pursuit, LOTR Stratego (I really like that one), LOTR Risk, and the checkers.

No one likes to play the DVD triv game with me ... lol... anyone else have that problem?

LOTR BOARD game reviews? [In reply to] Can't Post

Of the board games... I'd like reviews. Fun? Fun only to ringers? Easy? Hard?

I have several [In reply to] Can't Post

including the trivia game for the books illustrated by Nasmith. I can't understand why anyone would want a trivia game based on the movies. Tongue

Well.... [In reply to] Can't Post

I've only played the Risk and the non-DVD trivial pursuit game. Risk was lots of fun (but more so because I've always loved the original Risk game so having a middle-earth one is just geeky fun). The non-DVD trivial pursuit (which is pure movie based) is fun but way too easy for those who've seen the films. I've only played it once and found that my 20 questions right in a row streaks were just a little annoying to the friends I was playing with.

My parents got these for my son as gifts:

LOTR Monopoly
LOTR Risk

Wanted Stratego, but couldn't find it. Ended up with Narnia version.

I've played them... [In reply to] Can't Post

they were alright but not too challenging. But they are fun to put all together.

I got a group to play with me once, but that's it.

I'd love to get the DVD Trivial Pursuit.
