J.R.R. Tolkien Encyclopedia updates: table of contents, corrigenda, reviews.

Just a short informational post. In a recent blog entry, Michael Drout, editor of the J.R.R. Tolkien Encyclopedia, noted that some supplementary resources for that volume are now available on his website. These materials, prepared by two encyclopedia contributors, are: two tables of contents that give page numbers for entries arranged both by theme and by author; a corrigenda; and a spreadsheet listing articles, authors, themes, word counts and citations. (The last is an expanded version of material originally posted here.) Below, dna quotes from Amon Hen’s review of the encyclopedia. There also have been a couple reviews at amazon.com and another pair on the Mythopoeic Society list (curiously, these four are all by contributors) and a few other scattered comments around the internet. Most of these are linked at J.R.R. Tolkien – A Reader’s Diary, which squire unveiled in January with an announcement here, where he describes it as "a kind of conversational vehicle for evaluating the Encyclopedia, article by article". (Drout added his thoughts in this post.) So far, the Diary has accumulated 143 reviews, by five reviewers, of 124 articles.
