I absolutely loved how they included "In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit." Hopefully it will be included in the movie! :D

wow. I watched it at work (I just had to, could not, not watch it). And I cried. At the beginning I was just all giddy and happy, hardly believing what I was seeing. But when they came to the Maori blessing. Oh my, I was totally in tears. And now, I can't watch it without crying (I don't want to disturb my colleagues again, they were really worried I got some bad news). So I can't give any insightful comments or remarks, but it was just so amazing, so much more than I was expecting. They showed so much without giving away too much. I love it. And when I get home I'm going to watch it with a box of tissues next to me.

This is fantastic, shows us enough without spoiling anything. Loved Andy S in that suit. Hope there will be lots more along the way.

Has any movie production been so generous and open at the start of filming?

PJ, you wonderful, wonderful man, thank you for giving us a look inside at the making of The Hobbit. It was fantastic to see the old faces again! (Kiran! Alan Lee! Andy Sirkis!) And to see Rivendell once more... BTW Richard *nailed* the Maori pronunciation - I though he was a local until he introduced himself.
Celebrimbor: "Pretty rings..." Dwarves: "Pretty rings..." Men: "Pretty rings..." Sauron: "Mine's better." "Ah, how ironic, the addictive qualities of Sauron’s master weapon led to its own destruction. Which just goes to show, kids - if you want two small and noble souls to succeed on a mission of dire importance... send an evil-minded b*****d with them too." - Gandalf's Diaries, final par, by Ufthak. All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost. From the ashes a fire shal be woken, A light from the shadows shall spring; Renewed shall be blade that was broken, The crownless again shall be king.

Also known as Production Diaries. A new diary was published every 1 to 3 weeks. During post-production there was a new one almost every week I think.

That was amazing. I loved it all, but especially the Maori ceremony. Just beautiful. And the very end "In a hole in the ground...". Beyond amazing. Peter seems excited again. He said he's done a 180 on his previous feelings that he didn't want to direct. He's having fun!

When did he get excited again about the project( at least this high level of excitement) I bet way back in pre-production when Guillermo was still attached; it grew up on him since then.

Amazing. Simply amazing! I had almost a geekgasm watching it first time. I felt exactly the same as when I first saw the the first internet preview trailer for the The Lord of The Rings. So much to take in and just wow! *Watching it again*

I sat through the video just grinning, but at the welcoming ceremony, I welled up. No tears though <<hard>> This came at just the right time, I've been feeling a bit down in the dumps and this has cheered me right up.

And cried. Usually I try to be discreet watching things like this at work but I wasn't with this. Had it on full screen and didn't even stop it when someone came to my desk with a question. Just wish there was someone here at work who cared so I could share it. At least I have you guys!
