I doubt we'll be getting a weekly update as with Kong, but anything will be welcome.
I would rather be watching Peter Jackson's "The Hobbit" and Ridley Scott's "Prometheus"...it's going to be a long few years.

Hope it turns into a monthly (or at least quarterly) thing because it's unlikely to turn into the weekly updates we got on Kong.
My only reservation is really that when you get a fanbase so desperate for bits of solid information as on The Hobbit movies, it would probably be better in future if these kind of "watch this space" announcements were tied to a more specific time frame, i.e: "coming soon, in the next 24/48 hrs." instead of being open ended.
Because he doesn't specify, we'll probably get a fortnight of fervent speculation now before the video actually appears, which is a shame.
Also very frustrating.
Grrrrrrr.

Assuming you're serious, no, there isn't any "competition" between TORn and The Hobbit Blog, because the former is a fan site run by fans of Tolkien's works and of the films, while the latter is an official site run by the studios. The question of the two sites competing against each other does not arise
