Orlando Bloom has TH script, says it "looks" like he's going to be in the movies

Collider: Are you going to appear in The Hobbit? BLOOM: Yeah, it’s looking like that. I’m really excited about going to see Pete [Jackson] again. It’s still a little up in the air, but the idea of working with Pete is fantastic. I can’t actually really talk too much about it, at this point. I just was given the script to piece through, so it’s quite exciting. Collider: The whole script? BLOOM: Yeah! Collider: Will you have to do anything to physically prepare for that role again? BLOOM: Are you telling me that I’ve put on weight, in the last 10 years? I just have to grow my hair really long and blonde again. Collider: Isn’t he a younger version? BLOOM: Yeah. http://collider.com/mark-ruffalo-the-avengers-orlando-bloom-the-hobbit/84723/#more-84723
I would rather be watching Peter Jackson's "The Hobbit" and Ridley Scott's "Prometheus"...it's going to be a long few years.

I would have been a little surprised if they hadn't brought him back in, actually.

Once Warner Bros., New Line Cinema, and MGM all announce in official casting press releases... the performers seem to be released from the "gag orders".

I am very attached to the idea of his being at home either during the Mirkwood scenes or/and at the BoFA. (Big ole grin.)

that he would be given a complete script for just a cameo. Maybe he will be working behind the scenes like Serkis?

I think it's a common thing to do. A guy who was pretty much a glorified extra in two last Harry Potter movies was given the script for both, and he didn't even have a single line. Just around 30 seconds of screentime. (This was WB as well)

He really was present at the time wasn't he? He very well could be standing at his fathers side in the battle of five armies. If I'm not mistaken he is older then Gimli AND Aragorn, which would put him at at LEAST 150 right? As long as he is just eye candy and not doing back flip endo triple shot whirling dervishes whilst riding Beorns back into battle I'll be happy.
Oh Yeah, Check out his Majesty.

A Beorn ride? Sounds cool! A first person POV on top of Beorn, watching him swipe heads off Goblins with huge bear claws? What's wrong with that?

I'm surprised he got the entire script ... he must be throughout the movies here and there!? I've read in the past where certain actors only get the part of the script that pertains to them...

And this coming from a self-professed Orlando fangirl! I think it makes complete sense that we'd see Legolas in Mirkwood and/or the Battle of the Five Armies. Still, I think it would be more fun to see him pop up briefly than to have a big role throughout the films.

I am not certain if your question was real or in jest. Although not specifically mentioned, he is said to be more than a few thousand years old. The Encyclopedia of Arda has this entry on Legolas Greenleaf. Footnote 2 on this page attempts to give more specifics.
