dive-bomb a dragon, with these wings! Got the crocuses coming up, but there's large twigs all over the place - going to have to do some "pick-up work" this weekend. Any snow left, there?

I love my colonies of late winter-flowering hellebores. They come up through/under the snow and ice, and open before the spring bulbs show a hint of buds forming, but still look like this while the daffodils take turns blooming. :)

*snigger* He didn't know what hit him!!! I've got my invisibility cloak on. He's already suffering from the *kick me* sign I slapped on his back ;) You have daylight savings time happening? Isn't funny how something like that can just rock your world!? Especially when your creatures (dogs, cats) are still on the "OLD" time ;) I hope you have an amazing weekend, m'dear :)

but losing a permanent one, plus an unfair termination is just . . .well . . . Bleccccchhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Very best of luck finding a new one--it is so hard right now. I had several part time jobs, (free-lance) and with the economy, I lost all but one of them this year. Luckily, the keeper is a bit over half my income.

from seed, but just right outside as early as the lettuce. It takes a bit, but I always have enough, and it lasts 2 years! I do cilantro the same way (smell so good--if you like the stuff, that is.) It doesn't need a lot of space, really, so maybe you could get a big, square planter and find a sunny corner?

Those things are hard to see on any account. And they stick out in the strangest places. It really appears to me many times that the guy that designs where to put those things also designs pinball machines. When i drove tractor trailiers making deliveries i'd sometimes inadvertently knock one of those things clean over with the trailer when it jumped right out to cause trouble. Somehow i never felt guilty about it. Perhaps this little story will make you feel a little better.

and we enjoyed it. I think we all would be terribly disappointed if you didn't, sorta like a fuse to a big firecracker that went pfffft and went out (childhood reminiscences).

It keeps the bunnies out of my lettuce, too! I've also used piece of window screen I bend up into a "bubble" over smaller lettuce patches, weighted down with rocks around the sides. Works like a charm, but of course only for small areas of veggies . . . Yes, it's funny about mint--I guess rabbits don't like it?? My chives get left alone too, but they get ruined every year with leaf miners (major miners!!). Can't wait for more garden new--I'm always inspired by yours!
