Have I thanked the admins lately for being awesome?

Because, well, you guys are. I've seen some pretty crummy admins over the years. Everything from non-existent moderation to moderators who delete anything that might possibly maybe sorta cause drama to moderators who dive right into the trolling and encourage it. If I haven't mentioned it lately, in the words of Goldilocks: you guys are just right.

Some who have read the book, or at any rate have reviewed it, have found it boring, absurd, or contemptible; and I have no cause to complain, since I have similar opinions of their works, or of the kinds of writing the evidently prefer. "A common and boring artifact, unlike myself." -Solembum

This is the best moderated forum on the entire net. It's so civil, and polite, and free of obscenity. Definitely unique. I love you guys! (I'm serious.)

For jobs exceedingly well done -- and done with a sense of humor. Praise the admins with great praise!

I'm thinking of the first couple of years after the LotR movies came out. That was when the admins earned their "pay" on the Movie board... feuds, epithets, CAPITAL LETTERS, whining about censorship, banned members, secessionist boards. Whoa. Even the Feedback threads went on for a week sometimes. Pure entertainment. Not that a similar time isn't approaching, I guess. Yes, thanks admins. Every time I go elsewhere on the web and read the discussion boards, I flee back here. This place is truly unique.
squire online: RR Discussions: The Valaquenta, A Shortcut to Mushrooms, and Of Herbs and Stewed Rabbit Lights! Action! Discuss on the Movie board!: 'A Journey in the Dark'. and 'Designing The Two Towers'. Footeramas: The 3rd (and NOW the 4th too!) TORn Reading Room LotR Discussion; and "Tolkien would have LOVED it!" squiretalk introduces the J.R.R. Tolkien Encyclopedia: A Reader's Diary = Forum has no new posts. Forum needs no new posts.

We beat the bounds, but it's all the delightful people here who make this community what it is.
Silverlode "Of all faces those of our familiares are the ones both most difficult to play fantastic tricks with, and most difficult really to see with fresh attention. They have become like the things which once attracted us by their glitter, or their colour, or their shape, and we laid hands on them, and then locked them in our hoard, acquired them, and acquiring ceased to look at them. Creative fantasy, because it is mainly trying to do something else [make something new], may open your hoard and let all the locked things fly away like cage-birds. The gems all turn into flowers or flames, and you will be warned that all you had (or knew) was dangerous and potent, not really effectively chained, free and wild; no more yours than they were you." -On Fairy Stories
