Gothmog VS. Lurtz Can't Post

Yes, they are both Movie-Based. The idea sprouted from reading through the comments on the other topic I made(Which is about Gothmog). Tongue

Gothmog, Lieutenant of Morgul, Second-In-Command to the Witch-King of Angmar in Return of the King VS. Lurtz, the Uruk-Hai that lead the assault on the Fellowship at the end of Fellowship of the Ring. If you think about it, the scenario is actually kinda funny as both are played by the same actor(Lawrence Makoare) Tongue

In Fellowship of the Ring, Lurtz was one of the first of the Isengard Uruk-Hai that were bred by Saruman(In the film) and is presumably one among the most Powerful of the Uruk-Hai(Other then Ugluk). Lurtz lead his party of Uruk-Hai to find the halflings(Either Frodo, Sam, Merry or Pippin) and kill the others(Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli and Boromir). In the films, Lurtz was the one to bring about the downfall of Boromir, but was ultimately killed by Aragorn. Despite his short time on the screen, Lurtz is known to be a skilled swordsman and looks death in the face and laughs(till his head get's lobbed off..)

Alot of mystery surrounds the Orcish Lieutenant, Gothmog, who made his first appearance in Return of the King as he commanded a stealthy river assault on the Western Shore of Osgiliath. No one really knows why an orc would be given such a high rank(Led alone a crippled one), but from what we know, he is pretty good at what he does. He is a fairly decent sword-fighter, but is extremely crippled due to a disease of some sorts(If it is a disease), which proves to be a very great flaw. Maybe even a fatal one. Despite this, he is an excellent leader: Leading a successful attack on Osgiliath and leading a very long siege on Minas Tirith. If it weren't for the Rohirram and(eventually) the Armies of the Dead making an appearance on the battlefield, the siege might have gone successful. But alas, like many other villains before him, he eventually meets his downfall by the hands of Gimli and Aragorn while in pursuit of Eowyn.

Now, what would happen if these two villains clashed in a battle of brains and/or brawn? Who would win? And no, this is not a beauty contest.. Laugh

I vote for Gothmog. I'm pretty sure he would win if the challange in the battle involved more brains instead of brawn. But if he were to fight sword-to-sword with Lurtz, it can be questionable. I'm still rooting for Gothmog all the way.
