My goodness. You've been through it. Please get well but don't rush your recovery. Best Owain

Although perhaps a bit of enforced rest won't be the worst thing in the world before Pete starts filming!

"Ah, how ironic, the addictive qualities of Sauron’s master weapon led to its own destruction. Which just goes to show, kids - if you want two small and noble souls to succeed on a mission of dire importance... send an evil-minded b*****d with them too." - Gandalf's Diaries, final par, by Ufthak. PJ had best keep a closer watch on his health from here on out. I believe there is a strong correlation between high stress levels and ulcers. And Lord knows the man's been through alot of stress this year. Thankfully he seems to be doing fine. Rest up and get well soon, PJ. And take the time you need. No sense in killing yourself over a movie.

... Peter won't let this keep him down... but I do agree with Ataahua... some forced rest may be what the doctor will have to order.

... PJ can rest as long as he needs. We waited so long now, it won´t matter some weeks more...

Once these movies are complete I'm sure PJ will breath a sigh of relief the headache is over... ...unless of course they adapt The Silmarillion *remembers Fran Walsh's Nazgul scream*

It's so awesome to see everyone supporting his health and not just worrying about the film! I hope he gets some rest and relaxes for a bit - after all he's been through, he deserves it!

Actually I'm more worried for the films, since I am confident that Peter Jackson will recover anyway. Therefore, what does a slight delay mean?Someone from above mentioned a few weeks.I think PJ should start shooting the film on date, instructing the second units from the hospital via webcam.

Hopefully he gets better soon, he's had so much stress the last year, so I imagine that might have had something to do with his ulcer getting worse. A slight delay on start dates shouldn't be a problem, its probably only a week or two. Late February start rather than mid-February. Doesn't matter though, his health is more important.

Even from a filming point of view, ulcers are suspected to be made a lot worse from high stress levels, I'd rather him get fully better so he can continue making TH without any more health interruptions than continually have stomach ulcers coming back or not fully recovering due to pushing himself too hard while ill. I doubt he'd be instructing from hospital, though - they'll probably send him home soon (if he's not at home already) and he can instruct from his house if necessary! I guess I'm just glad to see that people realise he is a human being, not just a machine that creates movies :P

BBR - You want what? Sure yeah that's going to be the thing to do. He's ill so rather than wait to get better then crack on with filming a little later but perfectly healthy, he is going to have webcams set up and still be working himself into the ground from his hospital bed whilst recovering from an operation. It's gonna get made anyway, what does one small delay matter when its PJ's health?
if more of us valued food and good cheer above gold and jewels. it would be a merrier world.
