In my opinion, the whole sequence of Arwen going to the Havens was brilliant, especially with her visions of Aragorn's funeral and of Eldarion. I didn't even mind the "Arwen is dying" part, which enraged so many fans - it appears that the life of the Eldar was leaving her, but she has not yet acquired the mortal life of Men; and anyway, for someone who is 2900 years old - how much are 120 more? If a father of a twenty-four years old girl found out that she has less than a year to live, he would be perfectly justified in calling her "dying" in my opinion. But if you are looking for a single invented scene - I would take the farewell of Pippin and Merry at Edoras, when Pippin leaves for Gondor after looking in the palantir. Beautiful! And for a single moment - perhaps Theoden telling Eowyn "I would have you smile again..." So I voted "other".

it has some major flaws. I haven't yet wholly forgiven PJ for ruining poor Denethor. He got much worse deal than Faramir. Movie watchers generally like Faramir, only book-.firsters say he was turned into a jerk. But I haven't yet met anyone who's only into the movies and likes Denethor, or at least doesn't hate him. The Lighting of the Beacons is pretty, but not that mind blowing as people would have you believe.
