This is so cool! Look at all the smileys! I'll go with the shades because the sun is out at last, and the sky is blue, and it's a lovely day. Thanks so much to Altaira and Mr. Altaira and Inferno and all who labored to make this day come to pass. I'm off to explore!

I got excited at the new corner pictures too! Little things like that, are just really neat.

Now that I'm here, I'd like to say thanks to some people. Mainly to all the hard workers who made this all possible. But also to Annael for her fabulous avatar. I just can't thank you enough for that, hun.

I can FINALLY write down the exact date of the first time I posted in our new home! My Goodness, this is surreal! I checked the pictures in the corner first thing, too... and the very first one that came up was of Peter sitting in Bag End. How deliciously Perfect! I feel like I'm in a new town and have to find my way to the store, the library, and the ice cream parlour... but it's absolutely beautiful here! Thank you so much Altaira, Mr. Altaira, and Inferno... and everyone else who worked so hard to make this happen. That we should be growing when other sites are vanishing or diminishing is incredible! I have to include this in my first post: The Road goes ever on and on Down from the door where it began. Now far ahead the Road has gone, And I must follow, if I can. Pursuing it with weary feet, Until it joins some larger way, Where many paths and errands meet. And wither then? I cannot say. Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate; And though I oft have passed them by, A day will come at last when I Shall take the hidden paths that run West of the moon, East of the Sun.

Do not meddle in the affairs of hobbits for we can bite your kneecaps off! This reminds me of a story from my college days: I'm quite short, and a friend of mine (let's call her "Barb") was quite tall and would frequently comment on our height difference and pat me on the head, which I hated. I was walking to a dorm-room party with another friend and said, "Barb had better not pat me on the head!" My friend said, "If she does, just bite her in the knee!" Well, as soon as we walked in, Barb patted me on the head, and my other friend shouted, "Bite her in the knee!" That got everyone's attention!

I just wanted to let you know that I'm enjoying your avatar! Did you make that? I know it's your artwork (of course), but did you make the icon? Very cute!

Sadly, the icon was not made by me. It is one of the 100s of icons I have found on LJ. I have made icons before, but they are sorely lacking in prettiness. And it fit with my banner, so I chose it *g*

Dude, they're right next to each other and I thought the icon was of your art! I just looked a little more closely and, yes, I see it now. They're slightly different. I like the texture of yours better.
