Hobbit poster Can't Post

Hello everyone,

When I read about the new mess that PJ & crew are stuck in, I thought that the following quote might apply on them: "... and not for the last time [he] fell to thinking of his far-distant hobbit-hole". There have been many set-backs and there are still some obstacles to go. I just hope that they are going to enjoy making these movies again at some point and don't give up (mentally).
I, for my part, was very glad that they announced some of the main actors - Freeman & co seem to be a great choice! Inspired by these news, I started working on a movie poster for the upcoming movies. It is still early WIP though:

From the lower right corner, clockwise:
Martin Freeman as Bilbo Baggins,
Richard Armitage as Thorin Oakenshield,
and Ian McKellen as Gandalf the Grey (yet to be confirmed).

Thorin seems to be a bit too slight - looks like some kind of druid...

Hope you like it!
Best wishes,
Zherkezhi

Quite nice [In reply to] Can't Post

Will you be adding colour? If so, how?

By the way, Welcome to TORn. I love the way you spelled Xerxe(s). I used to go by Daughnte on XBOX Live... some conjuring went on there before people realized how to pronounce it.

Hello SirDennisC,

thanks for the welcome! It is a great community portal and I was tired of just lingering around. :D (though I am not sure what you mean by your comment on Xerxes etc - do you mistake me for sb. else?).

And yes, I am going to colour it using Adobe Photoshop and Wacom Bamboo Fun tablet. These are also the tools I used when drawing this sketch. However, before colouring it, I am going to add detail and shading.

Best wishes

Oh sorry about that [In reply to] Can't Post

I completely bungled welcoming you to TORn.

I was just drawing a comparison between Xerces rendered Zherkeshi and Dante rendered Daughnte. You will meet quite a few around here facsinated by that sort of thing...

Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing the finished poster. And again, welcome to TORn.

Oh, I see. No, sorry, my name is actually a reference to a character of the Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell game series.
Not really appropriate to this forum, but that is my usual nickname...

Thanks for the welcome!
Best wishes

Good work so far! [In reply to] Can't Post

are you going to add color. The likenesses are quite good. I recognized everyone before I read your text.

Thank you! ;) [In reply to] Can't Post

It's good to know that you can recognize them in these drawings. Yeah, I am going to add color - first I will do the shading, though. Actually I don't like this colouring process very much - I am not very good at it - we'll see, how it'll turn out...

Best wishes
