Gandalf. Definitely. Sure, Jeeves probably has more total knowledge. But not the common sense to actually know what you're asking for. Gandalf is also more water-proof and resistant to electrical surges than a computer.

As was pointed out in a post on TORn several times, Gandalf is wrong so much of the time that anything he tells you can't happen probably will... at least Jeeves is more sensible.

After all, one of the books is "Ring for Jeeves". Which Ring I don't know, but ... Added to that, the scathing (though polite) scorn Jeeves would heap upon Gandalf's muddy attire and lack of barbering would be devastating, and his boiled shirtfront would be proof against any spell Gandalf could throw against him. Finishing off with a pithy quote from Shakespeare or Byron which Gandalf could only counter with an ancient adage, I think Gandalf would limp from the field.

both are as good as each other... for Jeeves has today's knowledge but is sometimes way off the mark or slow to load, whilst Gandalf has riddles of knowledge but even a wizard doesnt know all things and can be wrong...sometimes. -e_H-
Elven by name, Hobbit by nature 'Road lead ever on and on down from the door where it began now far ahead the road has gone down from where all began' -FOTR- and through all the world has changed the ages come and go with time and yet those remain unchanged unto they journey westward over the sea...

My first arena post, I believe. Jeeves would win. Bertie Wooster is always reminding us that Jeeves gets his smarts from from eating lots of fish. Gandalf, while one brainy geezer, is probably vegan.

Well Gimli might not mind meat juices dripping all over his beard and drying in his 'stache, but Gandalf? Uh uh. He's got class.

The thing about Jeeves is not only does he manipulate everyone around him to extricate themselves out of some jam they've gotten themselves into (which, by the way, Gandalf does too.), but Jeeves, at the same time, manipulates them into doing what is in HIS best interests and gets them to think it's their idea!
