The Elves Leave Rivendell Can't Post

My friend, Elerin, is leaving for college soon and I wanted to do a painting as a parting gift/early birthday present. When we were watching the Two Towers outside one hot summer night, she chose the scene where the elves leave Rivendell. It took me about 2-3 days to paint it. I wrote some quotes on the back as well, and did a smaller painting to cover the word "Canvas" which was in giant letters (not pretty). So ta da!

HOW long to paint it?! [In reply to] Can't Post

Two or three DAYS to paint this?!

Criminy! That would have taken me at least a month!

Congrats to you! It looks great.

*art spasm* [In reply to] Can't Post

how can that only take you 2-3 days!?! that would've taken me 2-3 MONTHS AT LEAST! My Avatar is very fitting now! *sigh* I'm jealous.
ALRIGHT now that my rant is over that is a really amazing job. Possibly better than your Minas Tirith one... possibly, becase that one was flippn' awesome.

You know you're cool when...
-You have a nerd-spasm just because you walk by your Lord of the Rings Extended Edition DVDs.
-You cry at the end of return of the king even though you've seen it about 13 times.
-You check TOR.n for updates when you should be doing your geography project.
-You would rather have Richard Taylor's autograph than Merryl Streep's.
-You doodle Treebeard in the margins of your math homework.
But if that's what I'm like... well than too bad for normal people!

Well... [In reply to] Can't Post

I didn't have much going on and I wanted to get it done before I went on vacation for a week. When I got home, I did the back. I just worked on it for many hours. But it was fun.

Minas Tirith was much more difficult than this one. I only needed four colors for this one, and it's night time so you can hide stuff with shadows. Minas Tirith had a bunch of colors and lots of tiny little details. That one took much longer Smile

Thanks!

Thank you! [In reply to] Can't Post

I had sent her a picture of it with my phone (very tiny picture) when it wasn't completed so she was very excited to finally see it in person.

I know, it's so sad! I would listen to the music from the Two Towers when they left Rivendell and made me sad. No more Elves :(

Your Pic [In reply to] Can't Post

You should set that as your main picture in your profile then you could show it to everyone you meet online.

God Bless,
