not a racing bike [In reply to] Can't Post

a city bike, a Diamondback iirc
I really like it

plus it was a HoME book and I'm very protective of them Wink

and it's sunny again (well as sunny as it can be while the sun is going down)
there was a bit of lightening in the sky out my window (as in getting lighter, not the counterpart to thunder) pretty much right when I entered Gondor, which was cool Smile

The mountain bike or hybrid form? [In reply to] Can't Post

I was a road racer so I used to sneer at mountain bikes but each are very useful depending upon what you're gonna do with it. Wink I've mellowed a bit w/age!

<chuckle> One wouldn't want to cross you, I expect. Tongue

Now we just need Magpie or some similarly clever sort to unfurl a banner for you! Smile Oh well. Welcome anyway! <Urges horsie> On Multiplex! <Canters towards the ship for Tol Eressea!>

I still ride Raleighs from habit, though mine too is a hybrid design, though not hybrid off-road/road but hybrid racing/touring. I really do need to get a pure touring frame now.

Myself included. I keep thinking we should band together, go get that bl**** rock from Windsor Castle and simply declare Scottish independence! Evil

"The Inner Light" [In reply to] Can't Post

And the daughter's name: Meribor.

And the mere mention of this episode, makes the melody that Picard would play on that flute play also in my mind...I can almost make out the entire tune...do you hear it?

LOL! [In reply to] Can't Post

Where did the real one end up, after it was retrieved from wherever it was those students took it to (some church somewhere, I think?)?

Considering the widespread immigration of Scots to Ulster and then the States, and the Highland Clearances, 'tis no surprise we Rednecks (the term is Scottish in origin) outnumber those who stayed behind.

Possibly! [In reply to] Can't Post

One of my ancestors is a woman who was born in this country at the end of the Revolutionary War, and although I haven't been able to pursue her ancestry further yet, there are intimations that her line goes back to the Swedes who immigrated to Delaware.

But the braid itself is a recipe my mom found years ago, and was called "swedish" because of the cardamom. I've modified the recipe over the years to its present form.

I tried IMDb but didn't have enough to go on (with the wrong spelling of Mirabor) [In reply to] Can't Post

That was one of my favourite episodes (who says guys only like blow-'em-up shows?) LIP It DID, however, distress me greatly that many, MANY episodes of STTNG, Voyager, and DSN would tout what great warriors Klingons are and then promptly have Worf get his BUTT handed to him! Mad
