Welcome to Day Three of Movie Trivia to launch our new Movie Board! Here are today's questions: 1. How many Ringwraiths does Arwen tell Strider she cannot account for when she finds him in the woods? 2. How many legs does a Nazgul fell beast have? 3. Where does Frodo put the Ring when he and Sam say goodbye to Gandalf in the Shire? 4. Where was Isildur ambushed when he lost the One Ring? 5, Who dies at Helm's Deep after Aragorn tells him to retreat? 6. What is Barrie Osborne's title in the trilogy credits? Note #1: To clarify, you can continue to play the Trivia games all week, not just on the day they are posted. Note #3. Since you can all count better than me, everyone should have no problems with the first two questions! Have fun!

Since i have a bad habit of jumping in without reading the question properly: 1. How many Ringwraiths does Arwen tell Strider she cannot account for when she finds him in the woods? Where the other four are, she does not know. 2. How many legs does a Nazgul fell beast have? Four, if you don't count the rider as well. 3. Where does Frodo put the Ring when he and Sam say goodbye to Gandalf in the Shire? In his breast pocket. 4. Where was Isildur ambushed when he lost the One Ring? The Gladden Fields, although they are never named in the movie. 5, Who dies at Helm's Deep after Aragorn tells him to retreat? Poor Haldir, poor thing. 6. What is Barrie Osborne's title in the trilogy credits? I think he was credited as one of the executive producers? Thanks! I'm enjoying these.

1. How many Ringwraiths does Arwen tell Strider she cannot account for when she finds him in the woods? "There are five wraiths behind you. Where the other four are, I do not know" Can you tell I've watched this scene just a tad too many times? 2. How many legs does a Nazgul fell beast have? He has legs? I thought those were stilts. I'll take a crack at it and say two? 3. Where does Frodo put the Ring when he and Sam say goodbye to Gandalf in the Shire? His vest pocket. 4. Where was Isildur ambushed when he lost the One Ring? The Gladden Fields 5. Who dies at Helm's Deep after Aragorn tells him to retreat? Haldir-in-Headlights Well, he does look like a deer caught in... oh never mind... Haldir 6. What is Barrie Osborne's title in the trilogy credits? S***-disturber? *ducks* Don't know... I'm guessing Producer?

Welcome to Day Three of Movie Trivia to launch our new Movie Board! Here are today's questions: 1. How many Ringwraiths does Arwen tell Strider she cannot account for when she finds him in the woods?
four? that is a total guess...
2. How many legs does a Nazgul fell beast have?
Can you believe I don't know if it's 2 or 4? I never remember if people wear glasses or have beard either... guess: 2
3. Where does Frodo put the Ring when he and Sam say goodbye to Gandalf in the Shire?
In his pocketses... I remember this very clearly... there's that lovely 'whoom' sound of the Ring
4. Where was Isildur ambushed when he lost the One Ring?
Well.... if this were a book quiz we'd have to know exactly where because someone, somewhere *would* know... but it's a movie quiz so: near a river, and at least at some point during the ambush... *very* close to the river.
5, Who dies at Helm's Deep after Aragorn tells him to retreat?
ack... it's Haldir! sniff... Haldir Lives! Ar sindan (óriello) óriello caita (mornië)
6. What is Barrie Osborne's title in the trilogy credits?
hmm... I should know this since he's from Minnesota and I've written the title in my soundtrack transcriptions. guess: director?... possibly co-producer? (it doesn't help that I don't exactly know the difference between these two...) looking it up: Producer - and I've mispelled his name on my website.
Note #1: To clarify, you can continue to play the Trivia games all week, not just on the day they are posted.
Missing Note #2: There are three types of people... those that can count and those that can't.
Note #3. Since you can all count better than me, everyone should have no problems with the first two questions! Have fun!

1. 4 2. 2 3. In his vest pocket 4. Hmmm, if this is supposed to be movie-oriented, this is an odd question. The movie shows him riding along the Anduin River, without naming it; in the book, the specific location along the river is near the Gladden Fields. 5. Haldir 6. Producer

The Road goes ever on and on Down from the door where it began. Now far ahead the Road has gone, And I must follow, if I can, Pursuing it with eager feet, Until it joins some larger way Where many paths and errands meet. And whither then? I cannot say.

1. How many Ringwraiths does Arwen tell Strider she cannot account for when she finds him in the woods? None, when she finds Strider in the woods she says nothing of Ringwraiths but says "What's this, a ranger caught off his guard?" 2. How many legs does a Nazgul fell beast have? Four including the Nazgul 3. Where does Frodo put the Ring when he and Sam say goodbye to Gandalf in the Shire? Too close to his heart 4. Where was Isildur ambushed when he lost the One Ring? Down by the riverside (that's my singing smiley) 5, Who dies at Helm's Deep after Aragorn tells him to retreat? The big orc on the rock, and lots of other orcsies too 6. 1. How many Ringwraiths does Arwen tell Strider she cannot account for when she finds him in the woods? When she finds him in the woods, she's too busy having her little "Ranger caught off his guard" joke - clearly Aragorn has boasted once too often about his woodsman skills! But once she gets back to the camp, she tells him she doesn't know where four of the Riders are. 2. How many legs does a Nazgul fell beast have? I think they follow the standard pattern of having four limbs, in this case, two have evolved into wings and the other two are legs. 3. Where does Frodo put the Ring when he and Sam say goodbye to Gandalf in the Shire? Well, Frodo pats his pocket when Gandalf mentions the Ring. But is it really in there? Darkstone seems to have other information... 4. Where was Isildur ambushed when he lost the One Ring? Movie-verse, beside the Anduin (I've never thought to check to see if it looks like the place where Deagol finds it again). Book-verse, this is the Disaster of the Gladden Fields (love that name!). 5, Who dies at Helm's Deep after Aragorn tells him to retreat? Poor old Haldir. (Not sure it was a case of retreating, though - more like a tactical withdrawal to the keep.) 6. What is Barrie Osborne's title in the trilogy credits? Producer. Maybe second unit director as well? He seems to have done some of this, at any rate.

4. Where was Isildur ambushed when he lost the One Ring? Down by the riverside (that's my singing smiley) ooh... good one. I wish I'd thought of that. I'm going to have to come up with a song for every challenge too, now.
6. What is Barrie Osborne's title in the trilogy credits The Court Jester as an aside... didn't he seem like a bit of a sober one. I commented once that he didn't always seem so quick to be amused, forgiving or tolerant of things like delays, last minute changes, pushing deadlines... etc. He was very subtle about this, nothing too overt. But I've transcribed some of the appendices material with him and he's pretty deadpan when talking about the challenges.

I just have to say that this is exactly the reason I guessed director and/or producer in my answer. I was mostly sure he was producer but I knew he directed some scenes. There's an item in the ROTK-EE extras where he really gets very uptight about the delays, and calls staff meetings where it sounds to me as if he's very frustrated with PJ's last-minute approach. I must watch it again, but I got the impression that he was quite upset with PJ and was distancing himself from him. And I recall that where PJ says that he got Barrie Osborne to direct some of the Amon Hen fight stuff because he enjoyed it and it kept him happy, Osborne makes it sound like he thought directing was a distraction from his "real" job. I get the impression that PJ liked to play little mind games with both Barrie Osborne and Mark Ordesky, but Ordesky seems to have understood the joke better, and didn't resent the friendly manipulation too much.
