Geeky Son has been after me for a looong time to play that - one of these days, when I've nothing else to do (hah!), I suppose I'll have to give in! Laugh

Have a fun weekend, Evey! Smile

GLaDOS (the computer) keeps promising cake if you finish the game, and scribbled on a wall somewhere in it is that phrase. Over and over and over again.

Trust me, you do not want to know about the cake...

Well [In reply to] Can't Post

It's sort of a potluck. I'm contributing Man With A Movie Camera, a 1929 silent Russian film, and the first disc of Sapphire and Steel, a late 1970/early 1980 British TV scifi/horror series. Wifey is contributing New Moon. But the feature will be Kamikaze Girls.

"Bitter kitten" is how Americans (mis)pronounce the Japanese name for the drink. It means something like "idiot challenge". It's sort of a potluck. His name is kingly... [In reply to] Can't Post

Meet Brego! He is our new 88 lb. baby. He is a great big, beautiful greyhound that we have had for three weeks (as of tomorrow). He is playful and sweet and a total Mama's boy. He's about 4 1/2 yrs old and had only been off the track about a week when we got him. He is VERY relaxed and has settled into our home as if he's always been here. I wanted to share right away, but it has taken awhile to get pics ready, etc. We knew he was "Brego" as soon as we saw him. It fits him perfectly! Even people who don't know where the name comes from think it fits him.

Just one more...

Our early spring was just awful, so this has been really great for our family. We'll be seeing family and friends this weekend, which I'm looking forward to. I am hoping to make some serious headway on my report cards and finish planning for the rest of the year, too. My 4th graders have already pretty much checked out, but we aren't done until the 17th of June and I have to have something for them to do! Crazy

I hope this finds you all well! Enjoy the weekend and *cheers* to one and all!

Aragorn threw back his cloak. Here is the Sword that was Broken and is forged again! Will you aid me or thwart me? Choose swiftly!” TTT, Book III, Chapter 2

I once had a move where [In reply to] Can't Post

guys from our church were willing to do the whole kit and kaboodle (does anyone know what those are and where to get one? ; ]). Because of that, I did not want to complain. But I had labeled every box as a to what, and just as importantly WHERE: kitchen, baby's room, parents room, living room . . . figuring it would all go like clockwork. I didn't bank on what I guess was New York Guy Practicality. As they passed me in the hall with box after box, every single man asked rhetoriclally "Down cellar, right?"Wink

You don't know the half of it! [In reply to] Can't Post

We have a ton of pictures of him sleeping because it's hilarious, but it's "puppy porn." He lets it all hang out, that's for sure. He is, shall we say, very comfortable with his body! It's the funniest thing ever to see such a great big dog sleeping that way.

Don't know when she'll always make costumes on her own... [In reply to] Can't Post

...she doesn't really LIKE sewing. She'd much rather I make them and she wears them. However, when she enters a competition, she has to make them on her own. I just provide guidance and problem solving. But, if it's a general hall costume and a style I like, she knows she can talk me into sewing it for her. I started making her costumes when she was 3 years old.

I love sewing costumes, but I have never much cared for cutting - so now she does all my cutting for me which is a help.

The kids had a ball getting organized for the convention this afternoon - my living room was a hive of activity/costumes/wigs/shoes/props - you name it! And the costumes I saw at the convention when I dropped them off looked great! I'm sure they will have many stories to share with me tonight when I pick them up.

Cheers!

Any time, Dernwyn! [In reply to] Can't Post

He thinks he's a lap dog. He is the snuggliest thing ever. I have fallen asleep with him on the floor twice! He definitely loves his "peeps."

When are you guys done for the summer? This is such a tough time of year with older kids. Last year in first grade was a breeze because they have no concept of time. The last day of school they were still expecting to see me again the next day. The older kids know that their end-of-year exams are done, etc. and are pretty much "done." I have the computer lab reserved a lot the next few weeks!

Oh my goodness, I had no idea! [In reply to] Can't Post

That was one summer we didn't go out there--but we drove through the Big Thomson Canyon almost every single time we went. I couldn't help visualizing over and over how impossible escape would be in there, and trying to figure out in my head if there could have been any way, or anyone who could have managed to climb those impossible fractured cliffs in time. How did anybody survive--how did your parents??!!
