**FD: Learn Now the Lore of the TORnStaff Creatures!

|
In honor of this day, it is with all due respect to Treebeard (and with great thanks to certain TORnsibs who were responsible in organizing this event ) that I would like to present a tribute to the Staff of TORn, without whom this site would not be possible! Learn now the Lore of the TORnStaff Creatures! First name the Four, the FOUNDERS of TORn: Xoanon the Webmaker, Finder of News, ..Go-between, Interviewer, who brings them all together; Tehanu the Java-lover, player of horns, ..Ultimate Spy and first link to the Movies; Corvar the computer-literate, Keeper of the Servers, ..Maintainer of the bytes which contain our very words; Calisuri the Uninhibited, Designer of the Site, ..Tamer of pixels and developer of pages. Next name the SENIOR STAFF, overseers of human interface: Altaira the Superuser, who watches over our posts, ..Fiesta Bar-mistress and bane of all Trolls; MrCere the SandWitch King, who posts from the shower, ..Gatherer and disseminator of News old and new; Jincey, editor, motherly towards all, ..Proprietress of Barliman's and welcomer of guests ; Demosthenes, Barliman server of ales, ..Attender of events and reporter of same; maegwen, Barliman barmaid gregarious, ..Designer and assembler of moots large and small. Then name the ADMINS, safe-keepers of Message Boards: Ataahua the humorous, instigator of Conspiracies; BG, beloved programmer of these New Boards; Draupne the horse-lover, speaker of stange languages; Eledhwen the well-travelled, with "Dreamy Aspirations"; Hengist the sword-wielder, imbiber of beers; Inferno the Computer Wizard, solver of problems; Kimi the book-lover, and writer of stories; Kyriel the travel agent for "Middle-Earth Tours"; Silverlode the witty and Great Big Sea fan. And those who for long kept BARLIMAN'S doors open wide: IRC ops Arathorn, we can still meet at Moots; and CharlieMS, oft-unnoticed but essential. And we shall not forget those who have sailed West, forever in our hearts: Balin, moderator and moot-maker! (As with all lists, there will be some creatures who, like the hobbits, may have not yet been noticed; please mention them, so that they may be included in the List!)

Not only do they make the very existence of this place possible, they keep it safe from the trolls that might invade our borders. And thanks, dernwyn, for a beautifully worded tribute!

May all your other endeavors be laid under the same spell of surpassing excellence that you have laid on TORn!
* * * * * * * Do we walk in legends or on the green earth in the daylight? A man may do both. For not we but those who come after will make the legends of our time. The green earth, say you? That is a mighty matter of legend, though you tread it under the light of day!

I'll admit that I had a peek at this before... but seeing it here in it's glory and beauty has me jaw-dropped enthralled. I feel like I've just visited each and every one of the people who have given us this strong foundation that holds TORn together. *warm hug* Well done, dernwyn... this is beautiful and so poetic. You've captured the spirit of TORn so well. And Many Thanks to our Founders, Staff, and Admins who give us all so much of themselves over so many years. *bows deeply* No words do justice...
What a GREAT DAY!!! "There is more in you of good than you know, child of the kindly West." ~Hug like a hobbit!~ I really need these new films to take me back to, and not re-introduce me to, that magical world. TORn's Observations Lists

Now name those admins who came before (and mostly are not seen this side of the Sundering Seas): - Annael the vigilant, and A-Lady member.
- Blue Wizard the mouthy and terror of trolls.
- Corsair of Umbar, the kind Umbarian.
- burma the chaotic good, connector to websites of the weird.
- Idril the queen of the Top Ten Lists.
- Ioreth the fairy queen of the North.
- leo the tall, and admin overseer.
- Nimrodel the sports fan and wearer of tiaras.
- Nomad the shape-changer, and riddler extraordinaire.
- Nomen the fixer of Old Torn board bugs.
- Patty the fair, and instigator of Firthy madness.
- Vedhed the cyclist and ladies man.
- Watson the repository of Tolkien lore.
(And well done dernwyn!) :)
Celebrimbor: "Pretty rings..." Dwarves: "Pretty rings..." Men: "Pretty rings..." Sauron: "Mine's better." "Ah, how ironic, the addictive qualities of Sauron’s master weapon led to its own destruction. Which just goes to show, kids - if you want two small and noble souls to succeed on a mission of dire importance... send an evil-minded b*****d with them too." - Gandalf's Diaries, final par, by Ufthak. Excellent, Ataahua, you have the first addition to the List! I was hoping someone would bring up some of these names from the past (and present, so that the "newer" folks know who they are)! These are clever - and the names I know sure do fit your descriptions! Thank you! *bows deeply*

Silverlode the witty and Great Big Sea fan. Funny what one gets known for. I haven't mentioned GBS that much, have I? Or am I just that mysterious and hard to define? *ponders* It's true that many of my other interests/hobbies don't get mentioned on TORN much. Thanks for the list - that was fun reading!
Silverlode "Of all faces those of our familiares are the ones both most difficult to play fantastic tricks with, and most difficult really to see with fresh attention. They have become like the things which once attracted us by their glitter, or their colour, or their shape, and we laid hands on them, and then locked them in our hoard, acquired them, and acquiring ceased to look at them. Creative fantasy, because it is mainly trying to do something else [make something new], may open your hoard and let all the locked things fly away like cage-birds. The gems all turn into flowers or flames, and you will be warned that all you had (or knew) was dangerous and potent, not really effectively chained, free and wild; no more yours than they were you." -On Fairy Stories
