I am ashamed to say that none of the main characters in the Hobbit really intrigue me/are particularly fascinating. I am basically not that much of a Hobbit fan, and enjoy it more just as another source of entertainment and knowledge of Middle Earth.
However, Bard is definitely one of the best characters- just in his mysteriousness and brilliance, basically! Apart from him, I do of course have to pay homage to Bilbo- who is quite a genius of an invention. And, due to my obsession with elves, I am very intrigued by Thranduil - I can't wait to see what the film-makers make of him.
