As long as they aren't shot by the pirates guns (if they have them) I think the Elves would win this one.
Ninjas are great, but I vote Elves.

Of course, the big question is who would win in "Ninja Pirate Supermodels Versus The Frozen Zombies From Outer Space" (2006)?

Let us analyze the players shall we:
Pirates: On the historical side of things Pirates were sailors so I would assume they would fight best with their ships and wouldn't do as good in a battle on land. Also Pirates would often avoid battling and would try to scare the enemy into surrendering before they would actually fight them. So those can be disadvantages. They do have guns which is an advantage over their competitors. On the other hand in the non-historical arena the pirates have some pretty cool representatives. I mean Jack Sparrow from POTC, The Dread Pirate Roberts (Westley) in Princess Bride and Captain Blood in Captain Blood. Okay the last one is kinda obscure but I love the movie and it was successful when it came out in the 30's.
Ninjas: Unfortunately for my judgment of the ninjas is the fact that I know little about them and I haven't watched any ninja movies. But from the liitle I kow they look cool in black are super sneaky and silent and deadly.
Elves: The elves have alot going for them. They can fight on both land and sea. Like the ninjas they can be silent and are deadly with their arrows. And they typically wear colors that blend in with the natural world. (Black only blends in at night and in the shadows.) Also they may not have guns but they can probably fire more arrows while the pirates are still reloading. A disadvantage is that the actual cool elves of the Tolkien variety don't grace the movie screen that often. The best representative is Legolas ( who has a lot of fan girls. Coincidence? I think not.) But Tolkien's books do have some fairly uber cool elven representatives. In the LOTR Glorfindel helps Aragorn and the hobbits in scaring the Nazgul so they get washed away in the river and looking pretty awesome to boot. I mean Aragorn doesn't exist on two planes of reality (normal and wraith). Not to mention Elrond's conjuring up said powerful rushing of the river. And Legolas! (I admit I was a bit of a fan girl when the films came out I have mostly gotten over that.) :-)
Results: Hmm it's a close tie up between the elves and the pirates. In an actual battle I would lean toward the elves but in the movies the pirates edge out the elves by sheer numbers.
What happened when Legolas and Aragorn road with Eomer in the van.
Aragorn: Eomer, Legolas has his bow on my side of the seat!
Legolas: Well Aragorn keeps slapping me while practicing his "heroic" poses.
Eomer: Don't make me turn this van around.
