Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson ...

...to produce and direct three "Tintin" flicks, back-to-back. It's good to see that PJ is moving on, although I'm one of those people still clinging on to the hope that PJ will eventually direct the Hobbit movie. I like one persons take on the situation, " If Jackson is with Dreamworks now, maybe they can pull some strings and get the Hobbit for themselves. ...here's dreaming anyways.

Jackson will do a Hobbit movie when Tolkien Enterprises sells MGM the rights after New Line's claims expires.
No wonder all writers want to direct: one still has to put up with a load of nonsense, but even if wearing two hats (writer and director), there is one under which one is not called a thief and then raped.

growing relationship with Spielberg and Dreamworks as of late, maybe they can make a deal with New Line that they can't refuse. Can you guys imagine a Hobbit movie with the collaboration of PJ and Spielberg.

there's already an "understanding" between them of future/potential projects ;) Not time for an "official" discussion just yet... but I'm seeing 2009 flashing across my mind's eye over and over and over again! Let's just say, that's the year I'm hoping to go to NZ! Maybe a movie being made there with a but of little people running around could use an ol' gammer walking in the background... patting a hog on the rump, or smoking a pipe on a bench, or whatever. ;)

Movies, like other works of art, often require a singular vision. I wouldn't wan other great non-movie-making artists collaborating on a film. While the medium is collaborative, the director is the person who makes final decisions. In cases where this doesn't happen (the studio or investors step in or multiple writers get called in) it is often a disaster and at best usually suffers in some ways. No thanks.
