****FOTR EE APPENDICES DISCUSSION: Filming: Production Photos****(part 4) Can't Post

Here we are, at the end of Production Photos. I have divided these into two sets. The first is PETER JACKSON for an obvious reason.

To me, this is one of those iconic moments. I wonder what Peter is thinking here?

Looks like Peter is overseeing a game of Twister. Who’s foot is that?

Peter, those shades are cool!

The next set I call RAIN OR SHINE.

Is there a particular job title in the movie industry for the person that holds the umbrella?

It is a well known fact that Nazgul do not like water!

Seldom do Orcs journey in the open, under the sun, yet these have done so. Well, with a little help.

Well folks, this concludes Production Photos. Thanks for looking in. I hope that you have enjoyed it. These were just a sampling and if I skipped any that you particularly like, feel free to post them. Comments, opinions, and general discussion are always very welcome.

Those are great photos. I'll have to go back and watch them again. It's been awhile.

Perian Pile!! [In reply to] Can't Post

I just love that scene when they all slam into each other and end up at the bottom of the hill! Pippin's face as he realizes they're on their way is hilarious!!!

Shades and shades. Peter's innovative style is NEVER going to catch on, I'm afraid. *kaff* It's a look, fersher! But not one that... well... wait a minute. I did do that this last summer. Layering my lenses. Only the very cool people do it :D

Those poor Nazgul and Uruks. I think these were the 100+ degree days around December that almost cooked them all! Wow.

HEY! Does anyone have the picture of Elijah standing (full shot) in the snow during this same time when they're all lounging around? He's got on that coat and shades, and all... but he's also wearing Gandalf's hat. I have one of a closeup of him with the hat on and smiling, but there's one I saw years ago of him standing in the snow in a wider shot. Anyone seen it?

Thanks lots, OhioHobbit! You've done a FABULOUS JOB walking us throught these appendices. And you quips had me laughing and smiling all day!

*high five*

I really need these new films to take me back to, and not re-introduce me to, that magical world.

Hey. . . [In reply to] Can't Post

If you and Peter Jackson “layer your lenses” then I’m going to too! Cool
Can’t ask for better, or cooler, company that that!

I don’t think I’ve ever seen the picture of Elijah wearing Gandalf’s hat, close-up or full shot. That would be really great. One of my favorite pictures is Peter wearing Gandalf’s hat. I’m sure that everyone knows the one I’m talking about.

Thanks, gramma.

I always like shots with Jackson in them... [In reply to] Can't Post

It's nice to see him within the context of the actual filming, as opposed to the more formal interview type format of the commentaries and appendices. He always looks like he's trying to figure something out...but that he doesn't mind having to do it. I wonder if the guy ever got mad or yelled or screamed or was in a bad mood...he always just seems to be able to roll with everything thrown at him.

What do you call an umbrella holder? Hmm...how about "Rain Man?" I bet they were very much appreciated by the cast -- because "Everybody Loves Rain Man"....

Peter Jackson [In reply to] Can't Post

I always enjoy the behind the scenes moments with Peter. I have only seen one instance where he was a bit upset and that was in the extras for the Limited Edition. Someone had placed a prop on set without first getting the prop approved by him and he was not happy about it. It was pretty mild IMO, but you knew that he wasn’t happy.
