I think Pen meant to connect to this page of supposed audio commentary on FOTR by Howard Zinn and Noam Chomsky. Zinn, a historian, is the author of A People's History of the United States, while Chomsky, a linguist, wrote The Sound Pattern of English. Both are also noted for their political activism, and it is primarily their skepticism toward official history that colors their imagined commentary here. Similarly, this analysis of LOTR from about the same time assumes that the text is strongly biased in Gondor's favor.
