--> POLL: Radio City "TORn & Friends" Party - Friday, Oct 9 in NYC Can't Post

As listed on the schedule in the "Official Radio City Info" post, since most of the folks we know are going to the Saturday concert, a Friday night get-together is being planned in NYC!

Based on the number of people indicating they're going to be free that night, we've outgrown a sit down dinner anywhere; ditto just converging on a bar or restaurant unannounced. So, a fine group of organizers has been hard at work getting a venue and planning a party of special magnificence, and the time has come to get a better idea of how many people who will be free Friday night would like to join in the fun.

So, based on the details below, please take the poll and let us know if you're interested. This will help us finalize and communicate with the venue. More details on payment, etc. will be forthcoming soon! Also, if you know of anyone who would be interested, please tell us about them, or better yet, tell them about this poll and have them vote too!

Thanks!! Smile

The details:

Three hours reserved in a private room just for our group (7:00 p.m - 10:00 p.m.)
All you can eat appetizers
Top-shelf open bar (including juices, water and soft drinks)
The venue will be within easy walking distance from the hotel (so no cab expense and no crazy cab rides through Manhattan)
Children welcome
Trivia and raffle, both with great prizes available
Other prizes and goodies

Prices (including tax & tip - remember, this is mid-town Manhattan!):

Adults......... $52.00
Kids < 16.... $19.00

The restaurant we're looking at has also offered to give discounts on dinner for anyone who would like to have a full meal before the all you can eat appetizers. Smile

BG and I will be there with bells on! [In reply to] Can't Post

And, so as not to traumatize any of the younger folk, we'll be wearing a few other garments too. Laugh

(the fun thing about starting a poll is you get to be the first vote Cool).

Hope lots and lots of folks can come!!

Tonguenot to belittle all your efforts, but you really didn't need to throw me a party, especially during the only three hours i'm BUSY that weekend....

so the raffle prizes are 'need not be present to win, right!!' hehe

have fun all you crazy cats.

Pssh, how could I not go? [In reply to] Can't Post

I also hope, for Friday and Saturday mornings and afternoons we can somehow plan small groups to go sight-seeing somehow...

But I certainly won't miss an official party :D

This is gonna be great! [In reply to] Can't Post

It's just like our other mooty-gatherings... so I know it's going to be fabulous!!

I've been trying to talk my sister "Tig" into coming with me on this trip. IF she comes, she's planning on doing some independent sight seeing, but I'd love her to come and experience a genuine TORn blowout fiesta!

Thanks so much to our party/prize/game organizers. Most are seasoned veterans at this... and they give up their time to make it so memorable and AWESOME for us. *bows deeply and repeatedly*

Kudos and Hooorah!!

Excellent! [In reply to] Can't Post

So glad you can join us - I know many of the people from the blog are going to the concert on Friday and Saturday, so sadly they can't join us on Friday. But we'll be so excited to have you join us!

that many of the people at the party will be meeting each other for the first time, even though we've been on this message board for a while. So you'll fit right in.

Hope everyone votes in the poll! [In reply to] Can't Post

The responses are great so far, and this party is going to be extra-awesome. Be sure to record your vote in the poll so we get as accurate a count as we can.

Thanks, everyone, and look forward to seeing you in NYC!

Magpie +1 [In reply to] Can't Post

I need a cute name for my plus one. I am too much of a feminist (who kept her own name) to name him Mr. Magpie.

Anyhow, we're both coming and I probably will leave my bells at home unless BG and Altaira want to do an impromptu Morris jig with bells on (since they are going to wearing theirs).
