Tolkien manuscript exhibit in NYC

If you haven't heard, there will be a J.R.R. Tolkien manuscript exhibit in NYC to coincide exactly with the Howard Shore event concert/ screening at Radio City Music Hall.
Has anybody seen the exhibit, “The Beginnings of a Masterpiece: Original Manuscripts from The Fellowship of the Ring,”? Thoughts about it? Does it change your desire to be in New York October 9, 10?
I know several of our TORnados have even been to Marquette University and I would love some insight on the exhibit.
I have no choice but to believe in free will.

but I have visited Marquette to see microfiche copies of Tolkien's manuscripts, and also attended an exhibit as part of the Tolkien conference. I also saw a display of Tolkien's manuscripts at the Field Museum in Chicago as part of an exhibit of maps.
It's hard to express my feelings at seeing Tolkien's original writings. Breathtaking doesn't begin to describe the feeling of awe, excitement, wonder and humility. To see my beloved books in their true original state is an absolutely amazing experience.
I'm just guessing what will be included in the NY exhibit, but we will probably see the original drafts, when Aragorn was Trotter, a hobbit who wore wooden shoes and Frodo was Bilbo's son. I hope we can see the crossed-out sections of the Council of Elrond that I saw, where you could trace the evolution of the story. And see the back sides of exam papers where Tolkien used every scrap of paper he could get to continue his story.
I am as excited to see this exhibit as I am for the symphony.

The fact that I'll have the opportunity to see this so soon, when I hadn't thought about seeing such a thing for many years... it's truly a dream come true. I hope that this exhibit includes a good amount of things to see!

It sounds like much of the same material that was shown at the Marquette University gallery during the 2004 symposium celebrating the 50th anniversary of the publication of The Fellowship of the Ring. The show was titled the Invented Worlds of J.R.R. Tolkien.

I was able to see the maps exhibit at the Field Museum in Chicago (thank you, entmaiden!  ), and it is indeed a most singular experience to see pages in Tolkien's own hand.
Yes, I did geek out a bit when I realized I was looking at a page of the "Pryftan fragment" (a very early draft for The Hobbit)! 
This is turning out to be an amazing weekend!

I still don't see how I'd make it work, but I'm hoping that maybe it all might just work out and I'll be there.

It was very moving, almost overwhelming, to read excerpts of Tolkien's work in his own hand, both in exhibited originals and on microfiche. The maps exhibit was also exciting!

Yes, very convenient, indeed! But - groups limited to 10, and tours only on the hour? That severely limits the number of people who can view the exhibit!
September 15th may find us all in an on-line queue to get tickets, or whatever is required...

... I do have a PDF of one of their exhibition catalogs/pamphlets from an exhibit called "The Invented Worlds of J.R.R. Tolkien: Drawings and Original Manuscripts from the Marquette University Collection" which was held in 2004 (see the attachment to this post). It was freely available for download from the Marquette University website which is why I don't mind sharing it freely here.
It might be an indication of what this year's exhibit will be like
Edit: Wait... the PDF is over 2 MB and it looks like attachments cannot exceed 300 KB  If anyone wants to have a look at it (as in, indulge in 47 pages of Tolkien goodness... writings and pictures of his drawings and sketches), let me know and I'll figure a way.

further, as a New York area graduate student, I have full access to that library not only on October 9-11 but through November 19th (all the NYC schools are "in consortium" so my graduate ID works everywhere)
If anyone can't make the October 9-11 showing, I can sign you in as my guest and let you in anytime in October-November
Further, you wouldn't need to be herded around in a 10 person tour group, but I could take my time with anyone who comes painstakingly taking photos of everything, to create a truly massive and comprehensive TORN news report.

... but I'm not sure what these are supposed to be. It looks like the second set is the same sequence of keystrokes as the first, but with the "Shift" key pressed.
Perhaps this document was converted to PDF from another format and something went wrong during the process.

But this sure makes me want to go even more.
We've got enough money saved for the trip, that's not a problem. But, I can't help but feel that I could spend that money a little more sensibly. Like on a bathroom refit. Or a new patio. (I never thought I'd see the day where I even thought about being sensible!) Plus we are going to NZ for a month next year, so it wouldn't be the end of the world if we didn't go away this year.
But, that doesn't stop the fact that I really want to go to NY. Always have done, and with so many great things going on there in October, it seems as good a time as any. I guess there will always be more sensible ways to spend some money that you've got saved up. And sometimes you've just gotta treat yourself. I'm just trying to decide if I'm going to my Sensible Self or my Fun Self win this one!!

That is so neat. Were they for sale at the exhibition? Or was there an admission fee and the booklet was given out to visitors?
More importantly, are they available for purchase or are they a one time thing?
