btw: what is the dress code for this event? I'm prepared to get all dandied up if I need to, and obviously won't be in barefeet like a good hobbit (sigh)...any thoughts?

Dressy clothes, costumes, jeans, probably even a few bare feet (with or without extra fur added). And the weather can be everything from boiling hot Indian Summer to an early frost, so check the weather forecast. It's a nice theatre, but not Lincoln Center, so I'm planning on "nice casual" attire.

It's not Lincoln Center...Radio City is a far more casual place. I'm thinking comfortable and nice...since we're (if I can scrounge up money for tickets....) going to be there for several hours.
Buuuuut...I wouldn't be suprised to see hobbit feet and elf ears...

It's probably going to be all over the map, from dressy to casual. Personally I wouldn't feel right if I didn't dress up at least a bit for such a special occasion! I haven't really thought about specifics though. I guess I'll see what the weather is like when it gets closer.

I for one am just going to "hang", and am not attending either RCMH show. And I'm sure the Sat night RCMH folks will be hanging out at the hotel (or some other location) en masse on Friday night, and the Fri night RCMH folks will be doing likewise on Saturday night, so there will be plenty of Tornfolk to hang with either night, if you (or any of the local NYC folk) wanted to just "drop by" for company.

Ok, it was my assumption that my wife and I would be staying with friends who live outside the city. This is still on the table, but she also suggested that if some TORNsibs would like to share a room to lower costs, she all for that as well- this means we won't have to rent a car. First, is the hotel okay if people do that, and second- anyone want to share a room? We'll probably arrive on Friday morning/early afternoon and stay until Sunday evening...

Looks like I can get off for the trip if anyone still has hotel space available? I kind of lost track... I'd love the host hotel, but any close by will do. If you could post back here or PM me, I would love to move ahead with booking my flight and concert tickets! Plane fare is really low right now. :)

I just booked my Saturday seat in the 1st mezz(6), Row C, 604. I see I'm near Lith and Overlithe64, who I met at ORC/DC a few years ago.
Now for the hotel room. I'd hate to miss some activities, but with Friday's rooms sold out, I may stay with a friend in Brooklyn and room Sat/Sun at the hotel.

Wow... Friday's sold out at the hotel? Keep an eye on their site. They ran out of some of the rooms before and added more. It's still way early, and they'd be nuts to not accomodate as many as possible with 2 more possible concerts coming up (TT & RotK).
Your friend would be a great backup, but hopefully Friday's hotel room will become available :)
