Who is this narrator? Can't Post

I finally got a copy of Rankin and Bass' "Return of the King." The 1980 animated movie, which along with "The Hobbit" was my first trek into Tolkien's world. So, I pop it in and hear the narrator. Who is it? This is driving me crazy. I know that voice from somewhere, yet cannot place it, and the copy of the movie I has the credits cut off. Can anyone help me? To give you a piece of the voice, you can hear him speaking the first words in this clip. http://www.youtube.com/...&feature=related Thank you. :)

And I know Casey Kasem does Merry.....even as a kid I was like, "Why the hell is Shaggy doing the voice of a hobbit?"

It sounds like Gandalf. [In reply to] Can't Post

John Huston did the voice in The Hobbit, and that's who this narrator sounds like to me.

"Rabbit's clever," said Pooh thoughtfully.
"Yes," said Piglet, "Rabbit's clever."
"And he has Brains."
"Yes," said Piglet, "Rabbit has Brains."
There was a long silence.
"I suppose," said Pooh, "that that's why he never understands anything."

Agree with Rosie. [In reply to] Can't Post

He also does the voice of Gandalf for the movie. In his day, he was a well-known director, did some acting, and a generally power-house of a figure. Almost like a John Steinbeck-esque reputation as a rebel and force to be reckoned with. He's Angelica Huston's Dad.

"There is more in you of good than you know, child of the kindly West."
~Hug like a hobbit!~ "In my heaven..."

I really need these new films to take me back to, and not re-introduce me to, that magical world.
