It is always a delight to spend time among the wonderful, amazing and delightful people who gather here, but never more than on this day! My thanks to each and every one of you, because you have all had a part in making this site what it is - unique and very, very special! Cheers, TORNsibs!

They have become like the things which once attracted us by their glitter, or their colour, or their shape, and we laid hands on them, and then locked them in our hoard, acquired them, and acquiring ceased to look at them. Creative fantasy, because it is mainly trying to do something else [make something new], may open your hoard and let all the locked things fly away like cage-birds. My Personal Fav Top 10 TORN Moments
[In reply to]

Hi all, this is a pretty personal list, so it should really be considered 'My Top 10 Best Experiences Because of TORN'...but that is too long winded. I may think of a few more as the weekend progresses, 10 years is a LONG time to be doing this! Cheers! 10. Seeing FOTR trailer first time, crying Yes, this is a tad embarrassing, but I did cry when seeing the FOTR trailer for the first time on TV. It was the night it made its debut during a commercial break in 'Angel'. I remember feeling so immensely proud that the film the team had 'worked' on looked so amazing. 9. Seeing my name/torn in various newspapers, TV, magazines, websites Being modest, I have no been accused of it. However like many people, I do like to see some recognition for the hard work we put in. I can recall the various times my name or TORN (or more importantly, TORN labeled CORRECTLY) were in magazines like Wired, Yahoo!, Hollywood Reporter and so on. Who wouldn't like to be asked to appear in a photo shoot about LOTR? TV crews are so much fun, the stress however of doing a live broadcast is incredible, and not a pleasant experience. However it is still a thrill to see yourself on TV, without having to have done anything illegal! 8. Visiting New Line Offices New Line Cinema, yes, say what you will, but visiting those offices was a lot of fun for me. Ironically enough years before TORN I sent them my resume asking for work, and they mailed me back saying they would contact me if there were any open positions, I kept that letter all those years. At the time I visited the offices LOTR was in full swing, with TTT about to be released and the FOTR DVD on the way, actually Guillermo Del Toro's Blade II was just released, so times were high at the offices. 7. Holding Oscars The 3 Oscar parties we hosted were a BLAST, and what's more the actual Oscar winners came to see us. My wife and I were so excited to see everyone, and the golden man! 6. Various TORN Dinners The Stinking rose, The Cat n Fiddle, and many other places hold very fond memories for me. Basically any place where all the TORN staff can come together in one place is special for me. 5. Meeting stars like Ian McKellen, Viggo, John Rhys-Davies, Dom Monaghan I've had the honor of meeting most members of 'The Fellowship' from the films, and people like John Howe, Alan Lee, Richard Taylor, Daniel Falconer and others. My wife and I took a memorable trip to Canton, NY to meet Viggo Mortensen, that was such a blast. Good times. 4. Meeting Cliff, Chris, Erica, Bill, whole team the first time The first time we all gathered together in one place was LA, and it was a blast, again..meeting TORN staff is ALWAYS golden for me. Lets do it again in NYC! 3. Oscar Night for Return of the King What a night, we spent the weekend preparing for the party, from vacuuming to decorating and dressing up. The TORN staff all wrote special messages to PJ and the team, and we partied the night away. 2. Lunch with PJ While in New Zealand (see memory #1) I was lucky enough to have lunch with Peter Jackson. We ate Indian food and chatted about all things Tolkien, Kong and the like. It was at his Part Road Post studio, a truly remarkable place. I have met Peter a few times previous, but this was my one and only one-on-one time with him, it was truly magical. 1. Trip to New Zealand Ubisoft's King Kong contest was posted specifically on KongisKing.net, however the grand prize was any LOTR fan dream; a trip to New Zealand with a special tour of the WETA studios! This was an amazing experience to say the least, from Te Papa to the Wellington quays and driving up Mt. Victoria, what a blast!
