Hi all, I'm not sure if anyone here isn't aware of the FOTR Screening at the Radio City music hall in October, but if not here is the rundown: From: http://www.theonering.net/...dio-city-music-hall/ THE LORD OF THE RINGS: THE FELLOWSHIP OF THE RING SCORE PERFORMED LIVE TO PICTURE 300 MUSICIANS RADIO CITY MUSIC HALL OCTOBER 9 & 10, 2009 EXTRAORDINARY LIVE MUSIC EVENT IN THE HEART OF NEW YORK CITY WITH ORCHESTRA AND VAST CHOIR PERFORMING LIVE TO THE FILM! New York, NY — Devoted fans of J.R.R. Tolkien’s classic The Lord of the Rings have read the books, they’ve seen Peter Jackson’s Academy® Award-winning films, and now they will have a chance to experience composer Howard Shore’s Academy® and Grammy®-winning score to The Fellowship of the Ring live at Radio City Music Hall on Friday, October 9th and Saturday October 10th. For this extraordinary event, 300 musicians—a 75-piece orchestra and a 225-member choir—have been gathered to perform the complete score to 2001’s The Fellowship of the Ring live with the motion picture on a massive screen towering above the stage. ... I've been tasked to market the event online and talk directly to the fans, so what better way than to start with TORN! The producers of the concert would like to create a weekend long festival, and are in the middle of looking at hotels nearby to stage the entire thing. What I would like to do is create an open dialog with you guys, see what you would like to do if you plan on coming to the show, and even if you aren't..maybe you can accompany us at the festival (and just between you, me and the walls...if there is enough interest generated for the two concerts..they may add a third!). The producers, CAMI Music, are working on a website to give fans the lowdown on all the news, and I am working hand in hand with them. We are also planning a big social network push for the event, and will keep you up to date as well. Please reply with your thoughts, ideas, concerns and questions...I want to hear from you! I hadn't realized that they where also showing the picture. I thought it was just the music, but with such a hugh orchestra and choir, fantastic *skipping around for joy*. I'm so glad I have a ticket. I have a ticket for Saturday night but I think I will be in NYC at least also on Friday night if not earlier that week and will be staying longer in New York (still depends on a good offer on plane tickets). I would love to be a part of it, so if you need any help, I'm really good at organising stuff (I organise conferences as a job, but family outings also always seem to have my hand in them) and I speak several languages, so if I can be of any help, just let me know, I'll gladly help. Oh, I can't wait until it is October .

I don't do Twitter, Facebook or MySpace. It's a privacy thing. Don't ask....it's personal. But thanks for the info and organizing this! I hope people will still be checking back in this thread. I still have a major housing problem for that weekend. A 2nd U2 show has been added on Sept 25th,, and people are still buying tickets for that and such. The place to stay has not been finalized. I may indeed have a housing emergency...so I hope people on here are not all plugged into their little pods and not checking here.

to read the RadioCityLOTR feed. If it was a private feed that would be a different story but since it's public you just need to link to their tweets page. This is also the case with Facebook and Myspace (as long as the profile isn't private and you have a way to link to it you can view it).

Hi! Any news yet on hotels and so on? As I am an international customer, I have to pick up my ticket at Will Call. Does anyone have experience with this? Is there a difference to standard box office? Maybe I'm making too big a fuss over this, but I really don't need to fly for hours to find out my reservation has expired *shudder*

Radio City Music Hall seating, etc.

I have only been at one previous event at Radio City Music Hall (JK Rowling/Stephen King book reading a few years back) and my seats for that were practically as high up and as far back in the theatre as you can get and I was happy with my seats. Would I have been happier closer to the stage? Sure, but RCMH is one of those places where there are very few "terrible" seats. The acoustics will be fabulous. There are no columns to get stuck behind. Even the cheap seats are comfortable. It a magical place that will be made even more magical for this event. My birthday happens to be that weekend and I usually spend a few days in New York City around that week anyhow, so the timing of this could not be better.

Haven't made it through all 7 pages or so of this thread, but is there a list of where people are sitting and what day they are going? I was considering flying on Friday, attending on Saturday, and then going home late Sunday so I only miss one day of work.

OK, I went and got myself a ticket for the show. Saturday night, 1st mezz, row C seat 513. I figured it's near center, and being a bit back may be nice since there will be a full orchestra and the big screen behind them. A little distance, a little height, makes complete sense to me. And it looks like there will be quite a few other TORnSibs up there too. Woohoo. Now to toy with hotel and flight info, and ask for the time off.
