PJ vs. PJ vs. PJ Can't Post

This is an oldie, but a goodie. One of the first battles I posted on the previous boards.

Peter Jackson's three cameo characters are magically transported into a room. Breelander, armed with his carrot, Rohan-defender, armed with his spear, and Corsair, armed with pirate-y goodness (sadly, neither the cannon nor the rum made it). Who is the last one standing?

Rohan PJ [In reply to] Can't Post

All the vital advantages: High ground, head protection, and no gastric distress.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Sometime hours and hours hence:
In The Green Dragon two ales could buy
And drank the one less filling I
And that has made all the difference.

I've never posted in the Arena before. [In reply to] Can't Post

*rubs hands together*

Let's see. FotR PJ lays about with his carrot, jabbing, slashing - and it is quickly, tragically, fatally turned into baby food by the combined offense of TTT PJ and RotK PJ, who have no interest in the benefits of beta carotene, are despite their own lack of couth, deeply offended by the constant in-your-face belching. (Either that or they're jealous that he is so much classier than they. Anyone's guess.) Carrotless, FotR PJ doesn't stand a chance, and soon belches his last.

FotR disposed of, TTT and RotK square off. Fighting - spear to cutlass (pirates always have cutlasses) - is fast and furious, and fairly evenly matched, though TTT has no response to RotK's tauntings about his parentage (as he is clearly too dark-haired to be purely Rohirrim) except for "Oh yeah? Well, so's your old man!" Finally, TTT's chain mail coif slips and his vision is obscured for one fatal moment. RotK stands over his body and laughs heartily.

Is this really the way the game is played or have I made up my own rules again?

My first time in the Arena... [In reply to] Can't Post

Well, the Rohan PJ immediately spots the Corsair and goes to fight him. The Corsair was going to go for easy bait (aka Bree PJ), but being attacked, he goes at the Rohir. The Breelander, who has some intelligence, runs away and lets them battle it out.

In the end, the Corsair PJ and the Helm's Deep PJ end up killing each other (something complicated that involved tripping over the carrot Breelander PJ abandoned), and, surprisingly, the Breelander wins.

But don't worry, he gets impaled by tripping over his carrot and landing on the spear sticking out of the Corsair.

.... ew.

its between Rohan PJ and Corsair PJ... [In reply to] Can't Post

but weighing up the odds I'd say that by a whisker (or two...dozen...!) that Corsair PJ wins.

That was wonderful! I haven't posted in here in ages. I think the last time, I really honked off a young fan girl (age 12) with my suggestion that Robin Hood might be a better shot with a bow than Legolas. Anyway, loved your take on the battle!

"For DORA BAGGINS in memory of a LONG correspondence, with love from Bilbo; on a large wastebasket. Dora was Drogo's sister, and the eldest surviving female relative of Bilbo and Frodo; she was ninety-nine, and had written reams of good advice for more than half a century."

Why, oh why did you never come to the old Arena?! [In reply to] Can't Post

That is *exactly* how you're supposed to do it! I can't wait to resurrect some of the old battles if this is what we have to look forward to!
Of course, now the pressure is on and I've probably scared you away forever. Unsure

Now if we can get Man of Rohan, caleby and King of Easterlings to sign back up, we'll be all set!

Yes! [In reply to] Can't Post

Sting slashes through the Breelander's carrot, glides through the armor of Rohan-PJ, and a deft throw takes care of the pirate.

Whereupon PJ returns it to Sam and says, "Your turn, you've got the spider."

Maybe [In reply to] Can't Post

if he used the gong as a shield, and the hammer-thingy as a weapon? Nah, Howard Shore would kill him if he tried that.

**RESULTS** [In reply to] Can't Post

This was actually a really close battle, especially with the *ahem* write-ins. *glares at unruly posters*

Breelander PJ -- 3
Rohan Defender PJ -- 2
Corsair PJ -- 3
Sam stand-in PJ -- 2
Gong PJ -- 0

And with my vote cast for the underdog Breelander, FOTR PJ wins!!
