LOTR Fan Magazines Can't Post

OhioHobbit and I were talking about how much wear our copies of the magazines were taking from searching for things, so we decided we should have an index to the fan magazines. Since I am the professional typist in the family, I typed them up (please forgive any typos).

They are presented in the reply to this post. Enjoy.

I wanted to buy a full set of these on E-bay. [In reply to] Can't Post

I think it was around $200. I only have 5 of them as I came late to the party. A very big regret, I assure you.
One of these days I'll get a complete set. I'll be in heaven. They are wonderful magazines.
Thanks for this excellent index. Wow!

Thank you SO MUCH! I have the set and have each one in its own plastic sleeve. I handle them like delicate china. So having this incredible index is such a joy as it'll help me with the wear and tear.

What an amazing gift. Thank you again! You're BOTH my heroes! *warmest hug*

Wouldn't you think [In reply to] Can't Post

they'd have a reprint made available if they knew there was a market there? I'm sure they've still got all of the issues print-ready in a computer somewhere. With the rush for the purchase of their back issues, they should have guessed there are still customers out there.

The thing I was disappointed with is how fragile they are. My first issue has a huge scratch down the middle of the cover from pulling it out of the pile with only 2 other issues on top of it when I first started getting these. So have a care. They're easy to damage.

Those LOTR magazines look so cool. I buy the Star Wars Insider magazines, but having a monthly LOTR magazine would be so awesome.

Also, I see "The One Ring.net – Issue 18 pgs 61-62". That looks like an interesting one to have a look at.

One thing I should have said before, besides the fact that you both did a lot of work here, [In reply to] Can't Post

and again, a thousand thanks for this, is that these magazines are quality stuff. The articles are well worth reading; at least all those I read of my own few copies. They are really well put together with lots of good info - real professional writing in my humble opinion.
I hope that some folks (with mags to sell) on e-bay don't get onto the fact that we geeks still desire these with a profound desire...then maybe the price will come down yet.
I also wonder if they could reissue them - nah.
If I've learned anything around here it is that publishing is all about money - terribly high production costs, relatively, needing huge returns. Right?
*shaking head*
Whew, back to reality. What fanciful folk we geeks are. E-bay is realistic though. I'll keep my fingers crossed for that prospect to pan out.

Psst: Should PM (or e-mail) you soon about your other piece of inspired organizational virtuosity.
