Composer named for The Lovely Bones. Can't Post

PJ has signed Brian Eno to write for the music for the movie.

This should be interesting!

Celebrimbor: "Pretty rings..."
Dwarves: "Pretty rings..."
Men: "Pretty rings..."
Sauron: "Mine's better."

"Ah, how ironic, the addictive qualities of Sauron’s master weapon led to its own destruction. Which just goes to show, kids - if you want two small and noble souls to succeed on a mission of dire importance... send an evil-minded b*****d with them too." - Gandalf's Diaries, final par, by Ufthak.

Oooh!! [In reply to] Can't Post

I know him! Yay! I did remember that he produced some U2 and Coldplay stuff, and I've got a couple of his own original songs (my favorite is Ascent; thank you, Magpie).

I'm very curious to hear how it's going to turn out!

well... [In reply to] Can't Post

I know those as U2 songs but the work I know from Brian on his own seems quite different to me.

Finally! Some Lovely Bones news [In reply to] Can't Post

although I don't recognize the composer and there's no hint of a release date in the article... it's nice to know the project's still got a pulse.

"Barney Snow was here." ~Hug like a hobbit!~ "In my heaven..."

I really need these new films to take me back to, and not re-introduce me to, that magical world.

I'm not hugely familiar with Eno's work but... [In reply to] Can't Post

I happened across this piece when it was used in the soundtrack for 28 Days

This has got to be one of the most beautiful pieces of music I have ever heard. I'm sure YouTube doesn't do it justice.

Well, Eno is a musician as well as a producer... [In reply to] Can't Post

He was a member of the band Roxy Music, and has had musical collaborations with David Bowie, David Byrne (of Talking Heads), and Robert Fripp (of King Crimson), to name a few. He is considered very 'avant-garde' in his musical compositions. Recently, he designed the sounds for the video game 'Spore'.

JOHN WILKES: That will depend, my Lord, on whether I embrace your principles or your mistress."
