Arbitrary lists typically have little redeeming value. How were they selected and ranked? I found no description of criteria or method. What these do is incite provocation, induce participation, and ultimately (and this is the point) boost their ad revenue. Some folks think that they're fun, and indeed they can be. But that's not their purpose. :( I never take them seriously, and usually try to avoid them altogether.

I also wonder how they make these lists. In any case, I'm happy Aragorn made it to the list and he is in the first third which is good. Some of the characters at upepr positions I don't find better but then the question about criteria comes again to my mind. Did they mean most attractive, most loved, most appealing to broad public, etc.
Their quote is incorrect. Aragorn didn't repeat his mother's phrase. Elrond started it and Aragorn finished it. It was a reminder to Aragorn what his mother felt and a motivation. Sorry for the off-topic.

And I agree with you and Mwirkk btw. Would be much better if they said what the criteria was and they did get the quote wrong.
