MGM"s Sloan Gets 3 Year Deal Can't Post

Harry Sloan, the MGM CEO whose credits include helping to bring "The Hobbit" movies to the studios has been rewarded with a new three year contract. As many LOTR fans remember, Sloan was also insistent that Peter Jackson be involved in any future "Hobbit" related movies during a stressful period between New LIne Cinema and Jackson. We at TORN are thrilled with the news. You can read the full story in Variety.

Nice. [In reply to] Can't Post

I believe this guy must be right up there in the list of the most popular people in the Tolkien community. He made all this possible after all!

Here's to Del Toro becoming the Irvin Kershner of Middle Earth!

hmmmm... 3 years? [In reply to] Can't Post

*geeky hand-clapping* That'll be just about right to get The Hobbit and Film2 put to bed. THEN, if he's a very good boy, maybe he'll get 3 more, then 3 more then 3 more...

This is wonderful news. His foresight and efforts are ALWAYS applause-fodder for me! :D
